Default Most Ridiculous New Product

I actually saw a commercial selling Chloroseptic Salt Water Gargle.

So now we are so stupid, we have to pay a company to mix salt and water together?

Hey. If they can sell jars with peanut butter already with the jelly in it,
it'll be a matter of time before we see salt and pepper shakers
thrown together, hot dogs with mustard or ketchup filling-
then again, there are people lazy enough not to bother learning to put
salt in water before gargling for fear of putting too much salt.
If someone feels the market is there for it, the product will be
soon in coming.

It may not be laziness but mistrust of the table salt themselves. There will probably be some sort of study that shows that do-it-yourself salt/water mixes cause cancer in laboratory rats more often than the pre-mixed variety. The marketing companies will probably also make some sort of purity claim.

Ok, let's say Teflon is bad for your lungs.. who eats their food by inhaling anyways?

I am not the type of person to worry about every thing the news tells me is going to give me cancer. I've had non-stick pans so old the non-stick was getting into my food, and still used them. If it's Teflon this week, it'll be plastic cutlery next week. The stress of worrying about what's going to kill you will probably kill you. Just MHO.
