Read it at CBn: Mathis is back, Wright is Leiter, Olga Kurylenko is the Bond girl, Gemma Arterton is an MI6 agent.

BOND is still Produced by United Artists...right? why did Mania report that Bond 22 was Sony/MGM?

So much for a Latina Bond girl, huh? Those publishing rumors about theme song candidates would be well advised to take note of how the final choices usually haven't the slightest resemblance to what's been speculated in advance. Not a roll-call of A-list names by any means but Eon usually goes for talent instead of star power. Just as well, because every time they do cast a big star (Christopher Walken, Halle Berry) one usually has trouble dealing with the character on its own merits rather than just thinking "Hey, that's Halle Berry in a Bond movie!" Ah well. Still hoping for Monica Bellucci for Bond 23!
Bond isn't "owned" by United Artists. Technically, and someone more in the know feel free to correct me, it's owned by Danjaq LLC, a Swiss holding company that is the property of the Broccoli family. The movies are produced by Eon Productions and released through Sony/MGM. MGM absorbed United Artists back in the 80's.

Boromir, the Latina thing wasn't a rumor, it was from the official casting call that Eon put out. Just because they found a different actress doesn't mean that was inaccurate. Maybe they just liked this woman and shifted gears. Or maybe not. They were also looking in Israel. I think they wanted a Latina "type;" brown or olive skin, dark hair, and Olga Kurylenko fits the bill.
McKracken, Boromir has the gist of it. Danjaq was a partnership between Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman. Saltzman sold his half to UA. UA was purchased by MGM who was purchased by Sony.

Ah, my mistake. With so much nonsense about the new Bond movie out there at any given time, sometimes it's hard to tell the wheat from the chaff. But we should still blow a big raspberry at the publicists for Abbie Cornish, Carice van Houten and Shilpa Shetty - all of whom were hyped as "perfect" for the role, in "secret talks" and being hounded by "desperate" producers!

I don't blame you. If I didn't have to follow all these stories for the blog, I'd be at least as confused, probably more so.

Just a few days ago I said it would be time to get excited when they cast the lead Bond girl. Now I don't think I could feel more
![]() Guess I was just looking for a little more insight into the story when this was announced than what they're giving us. Anyway, not bad news, just not uber cool news like I expected. |

They're always tight-lipped about the story. It's supposed to be a surprise.

Two men enter, one man leaves. I kill man leaving & laugh.

Olga Kurylenko was fucking beautiful in Hitman. Nice to see that she's a Bond girl now. Nice to see some continuity forming with the return of Mathis and Leiter. Looks like I'm gonna have to start avoiding the news pretty soon, I'm not a spoiler type of guy. Can't wait to be in the theater with this one.
