Default Day 5: 4-5 PM Discussion thread <<<SPOILERS>>>

Just wanted to get a jump on things for tonights ep.
Anyone wanna guess at who's the second mole at CTU?
If it's Lynn, then that's just too easy.
Then again, I'd hate for it to be anyone else.
I like everyone that's there now.

I bet it's the guy who runs the concession stand off-camera.

I can't wait for tonight's episode. 24 continues to impress despite some thinking the concept couldn't last.

A most excellent episode. Between the covert ops within CTU, Logan handing his wife over to death, Pierce showing why he's the greatest Secret Service Agent in history, Curtis standing his ground, and bringing back what seemed like a throwaway plot point in the first season, it was a fantastic episode from start to finish.

Lyn has gone crazy.

Logan is still as sniveling coward. It's a shame going from Palmer to him but I guess it certainly gives the writers more to work with on the vast difference between the two.

Chloe and Edgar rock.....I loved Chloe's expression when telling Lyn about the Presidential detail plot....She doesn't like to get shit from anyone including her bosses. She gave a look of "WTF!?" after that little tirade.

Speaking of which, the action sequences continue to be top notch. Rocket Launchers attack and Aaron surviving!? Good! Was afraid for a second, he was going to be added to the list of "Great Characters Who Die to Enhance the Story".

Jack is still Jack......ergo ....invincible! Bomb? Pfffft......I'll just lay it by the door and hide with the cabling infrastructure. He's going to get Robocop back gooooooood too. Can't wait for that one.

Next week's preview looked very promising too(though I won't mention it in this thread).

Yes, Robocop/Peter Weller/who cares what his actual character name is will definitely be getting some of that patented Bauer payback. I just hope that Bauer takes a pit stop at CTU to bitchslap Lyn and chop off his arms or something. That boy needs some help.

When Jack survived that bomb blast, that list that was posted here about
how invincible he is went through my mind.

Our poor Hobbit has been reduced to being a gibbering baskethead.
Fun to watch! It was great to see the guards suddenly side with Manning
so quickly over Lynn's authority. Poor schmuck. Wait till he learns that the
motorcade tip offs CTU found were legit. I wanna see his face when he
learns of just how incompetent he's been for the last couple of hours.

Logan is a weasel, and a spineless earthworm of a president. But I really was thrown for a loop when he asked Mike Novic to kneel down with him to pray.
Mike's face was priceless at that point.
No matter how pathetic a character Logan was, his last resort to kneel out of desperation
suddenly made me want to rethink of just what kind of character he is.
It's a little confusing really. Am I supposed to start liking him now?
For what it's worth, no one could've seen that coming. Very unpredictable.
And very much in line with the show thus far.

Edgar is slowly proving more and more how much he likes Chloe when he
decided to go against Lynn's protocol, agreeing with Audrey to mask accounts,
even though you could read in his face how he didn't want to jeopardize
his job.
Makes you wonder if Chloe noticed this or not.
I am curious to know if Chloe knows about Edgar's feelings for her.
Or for that matter, would she care?
24 FANS WANT TO KNOW!!!

And btw, I WANT THAT 24 GAME SET BETWEEN SEASONS 2 AND 3!
My PS2 has been too quiet lately, and I wanna play.

Logan is the new Nina -- he needs to die, but it'll take a few seasons before Jack unloads a bullet into his head. He must be taping down those boobies, because he sure as hell doesn't have any balls.

Best episode yet, but the bit about Logan had the opposite effect for me.

It's getting easier and easier to despise the worm. The minute he asked Mike to pray with him only reaffirmed my contempt for him. It wasn't as though he were powerless to act; the doings for the day are attributed to his actions and inactions.

It doesn't take great feats of super-human strength to follow through with clear moral conviction. That he would "agonize" over his decision to send another human whom had befriended him, along with his wife and his own wife to their certain deaths in the name of a greater good rang hollow coming from this guy.

That he would ultimately cop out and pray only further angered me. I beleive that God helps those who help themselves. While commendable to lower ones self and acknowledge one's failings before a Supremne Being, Logan's actions here clearly did not speak to this, nor was he about seeking redemption. His words seconds prior to this, addressing his wife were most telling "YOU brought this on yourself." To me, he was clearly escaping, scapegoating and deferring all responsibility for his moral failures.

Compare his "agony" over Jack's clear violation of a direct order in releasing the cannister codes when having seen the faces of his would-be victims only minutes earlier.

I don't want to see Logan take the easy way out at the end of the day with a bullet; I want to see him have to face the Truth openly before the Nation. Next weeks 2 hours will be delicious. For me, the most intense moment previewed was when the First Lady verablly acknowledges that her husband knew that his beloved wife was in harms way - and he did NOTHING to stop it.

Sorry, but I hate this fuck.

Lynn? I loved watching him self-destruct - but dammit - it went down too quick.

You know, I didn't even realize that that was Robocop. Jack Bauer vs. Robocop. There's a matchup.

Logan won't be around too much longer, trust me. One thing I've learned from watching 24 is that everyone gets what they deserve in the end. Except for Jack, of course. He's usually just screwed. I wonder what will finally happen with the Chinese?
