Default Sith Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader - Review

I wrote a review of this book, you can read it here

This book had so much potential, its too bad that it did not rise to the occasion.

So, I think I won't devote my time in this then. I want/need to read about Vader, about the hunting down of jedi, not supplemental stuff. For the life of me, I don't know why an author would go about it this way, kind of like on the periphery. NO ONE is interested in that. Instead, what's offered is generally around ground zero but not directly about the main subject that begs to be explored. I ain't buying or borrowing this book, at all. NEVER.

quite frankly, I am sure alot of it is being controlled by Lucas. For instance, Joruus Cboath in Thrawn trilogy was originally intended to be Obiwan's clone, but Lucas nixed that.

In related news, anyone read Outbound Flight yet? I got it and read it, and it was pretty good. It tied in real well with Zahn's other novels, especially Survivor's Quest.

So, what's your take on it then? I'm familiar with TZ's work especially with his own stuff, the newest about a kid and a dragon that can graft onto him....anyhow, what's up with Outbound Flight? Anything that stood out particularly? You don't have to spoil but....a hint maybe.

Well, I love Zahn's SW writing. This book was pretty good, it tied in alot of stuff, including young Anakin(14yrs old), the original Jorus C'Boath, and alot of the stuff that was in Survivor's Quest.

It really showed why the Clone Joruus was so nutty in the Thrawn trilogy. Apparently it wasn't just "clone-madness".

I need to reread it, since I flew through it over one day, and then reread SQ. I haven't read any of the prequel era novels so I don't know if there's anything related to them in the book.

I'm hedging a bit, I'm going over to Barnes & Noble, right now, its my day off, and chill a bit, and lightly check out O.F. if it reads promisingly enough, I buys.
