Default Lost Episode "Jughead"

Am I the only one who was disappointed to find out that there would be no Lost-Archie Comics crossover on Wednesday's episode? It's a shame: I had a ton of "jalopy" and "Midge" puns at the ready. So who or what is "Jughead" then? By the end of the hour, we've found out, but it's perhaps the least fulfilling of the many revelations of this fast-paced episode, which contained far fewer "flashes" than last week's episode. Desmond begins his quest to find Daniel Faraday's mother — whatever her name is — and in the process learns more about her time-hopping physicist son, and the company he keeps.

RETURNING TO "THE ISLAND"

Poor, crazed Desmond is running around a fishing village looking for Efren Salonga, who turns out to be a doctor, and in short order, he delivers Des and Penny's bouncing baby boy! Newborn babies always look too big on TV — for obvious reasons, I guess. (Aside: A banner in this scene reads "MABUHAY," which is Tagalog for "Welcome," so I used my sophisticated detective skills to surmise that DesPen are in the Philippines.)

last week, have watched lost dvd 1-4 again .

I thought this was one of the best episodes Lost has ever done. I really enjoyed all the little revelations peppered throughout. It was also nice that Jack and Kate were nowhere to be found, and that Faraday had a lot of screen time. He is quickly becoming a favorite character of mine.

I was a little underwhelmed at the amount of information revealed. It served to ask a lot more questions about things we already have questions about.

Where does Jughead end up, underneath a ton of concrete attached to a failsafe key in the swan?

Is Ms. Hawking really Faraday’s mom who is in LA with Ben and also pointing a gun at her grown son?
Does Ben cause Widmore’s departure from the island or does Jacob, because Widmore is such a cocky bastard?

The only thing it did answer for me is that we now know that Widmore, Hawking, and Alpert were original inhabitants. The military tried to establish a test site and were killed, yet Dharma successfully operated for years before Ben purged them. The guys with the guns and the ones with the arrows were from the same side.

My theories are

SPOILER
Penny and Daniel are brother and sister. Adam and Eve are either Penny and Desmond or Bernard and Rose. Widmore was forced to turn the donkey wheel. Alpert has four toes

Here's something that occurred to me. Desmond called his son "Charley." My first thought was, "Whoa, they named him after his grandfather Charles Widmore?"

Then I realized, "Nah, they named him after CHARLEY, who died trying to get them rescued."

But this is a show that takes names very seriously. And yet we have a Charley, a Charles, and a Charlotte. Coincidence? I don't think anything on this show is coincidence.

Bah! He should have called his son Telemachus for Gawd's sake!

Great episode I thought, it really does seem to be coming together now nicely although I do find it a bit surprising that a man of Widmore's means can't find his daughter after 3 years!

I'm with Speedy on

SPOILER
the four toed statue (although I think it might actually be Locke)and Widmore. And wouldn't it be more hilarious if Charlotte and Danielle were brother and sister?

We'll have to see what comes out in the wash but I form next weeks trailer it appears that the

SPOILER
Time travelling islanders return to 2004 and see themselves traipsing through the jungle.

I don't think that Jughead was connected to the failsafe key.

You have a way better memory than I do. Hadn't even remembered one single Theresa, not to mention 3.

Also, there's the Daniel/Danielle thing going on.

There's MOTHER THERESA! But she died. Maybe she just went to the island!

Nothing to do with memory. Thank Lostpedia for that one....

Okay. Should have seen it coming - that Ben was behind harassing Kate to scare her into coming with them. But why, then, did he admit it was him? Didn't get that part.

Freaking good casting. The young Danielle looks perfect. And of course, as soon as I heard them speaking French, I knew exactly that they were Danielle's group. I take it Robert was her husband. There were a lot of googly eyes going back and forth there.

Theories - the people that were shooting at Sawyer and crew were in fact either 1) Sawyer and crew displaced in time by a half hour OR 2) Jack and crew coming back to the island.

Still annoyed that no one is even MENTIONING Walt.
