I have been glued to my screen since summer, when they ran reruns of the first season. Up until last night. Either Charlie is the most annoying and useless character, or he's just not developed enough to carry a whole episode. I don't particularly like scenes with him to begin with, and watching his crazy delusions didn't make me care more about him. Maybe I just have no sympathy for junkies, but I almost would've rather seen him using again.
I also wonder if the others are beginning to have an influence on him. Or perhaps because his will is so weak, the magnets are unravelling his mind?

I have a feeling that Hurley was at one time in an institution where Libby worked.
And the only reason I hate Charlie is because he is banging Kate for real! Last edited by fastcar : 01-26-2006 at 08:51 AM. |

Okay...I had a post about the episode all ready to go last night and then my comptuer decided to steal my joy and just crash. Grrr....
Anyway, I was actually pretty bored with last night's episode. Mostly because Charlie has been so boring these past few episodes. Boring, predictable and completely impossible to like. I just don't even care if Charlie disappeared from the cast because he really hasn't done much besides provide comic relief. Now that Locke is doing the whole father figure thing with Claire and her kid....Charlie has lost his purpose. The baby was baptized, Charlie thinks all the drugs are gone (he has to assume Locke destroyed them all) so he really doesn't have much to do now that no one trusts him. So what now? We get to watch him mope around until he happens upon the drugs in the bunker one day? Whoopidty doo. I know he is a tragic character but still....give him something to do besides brood. Gotta agree with Mae though. Locke didn't seem like Locke this episode. He got almost a little too protective of Claire and the baby. I mean, I know he doesn't trust Charlie because of the drugs but still....what happened to the guy who believe the island was testing their faith? That all of this was a test? Why didn't he respond when Charlie brought that up? I'm just disappointed with the complete lack of Other's talk. No speculations, no nothing about them. It's like it never happened. Kate & Sawyer still wanna-maybe-kinda-hump and don't even bother. Hurley and Libby seem to be developing into a decent side storyline. What was with that question though? "Doesn't this washer & dryer seem newer then everything else in here?" Maybe I'm just trying to look more into it... I'd hate to fail to mention that Mr. Eko is by far one of my favorite characters on the show now. He is so relentlesly mysterious and ambiguous at the moment. You know....kind of like Locke used to be before he started playing daddy. Minion: Is also let down that Eko (as well as Charlie) don't seem all that phased about staring down that god damned cloud. |

I have also wondered where the heck Desmond went to. It's an island, for Pete's sake. There are only so many places he can be! I bet you we'll find out The Others got him...

But on other subjects, I don't think Locke preserved the drugs for medical reasons otherwise, why not tell Jack, you know, the island's only doctor? I think he's saving them for when he thinks Charlie is ready to pass their test. As for Hurley/Libby, two possibilities: 1: She either worked briefly (would have to be brief or Hurley would remember her better) at the mental ward where Hurley was a patient or perhaps visited as part of her classes. 2: What if she's not really a psychologist? What if she was also a patient? Again she might have only been there briefly or perhaps the ward was sexually segregated. According to Lostpedia (http://www.lostpedia.com) the washer dryer is indeed a modern Whirlpool duet. |

I read that Dominick and Evangeline are engaged in real life. Can't remember where I read it, though.
The washer and drier: either the set decorators went bonkers trying to find "period" appliances and gave up, prompting the writers to have an in-joke, or they are trying to tell us that someone has visited the island recently. Somehow I doubt that Desmond was shipwrecked with a brand new Whirlpool washer and drier, and hauled them into the bunker, and they still worked!
