I didn't watch it yet, but I'll probably do so tonight. I was catching up on Terminator yesterday.

I also thought it was amazing.

I loved all the "greetings" Dean got during the episode, and I loved the glimpse we got into what Sam has been up to. It looks like some crazy stuff will be going down this season.

I didn't watch it yet either. I was catching up on Fringe and House. I still have 3 episodes from season one of Sarah Connor and the two new eps as well, but I love Supernatural enough that I'll probably watch it first.

Thumbs up Re: Supernatural - Season IV

Please. Let's get to it. Ya been warned.

SPOILERS

I missed some parts, but overall it was fantastic. A friend and I have been debating the absence of God in this show for some time. We speculated what would happen once Dean descended into the Underworld. By no means did see this coming, but we definitely thought angels had to get involved at some point. Especially after that demon in "Sin City" told Dean the original demons were fallen angels.

As for Castiel, fantastic entrance and it was great how he explained the opening scene was him trying to speak to Dean. When he said the psychic went blind from seeing his true form it really reminded me of that X Files episode, "All Souls," about the four nephilim girls whose souls were being claimed when their angel father revealed "the glory of his countenance" which burnt out their eyes. And then that bit about possessing a righteous man. He probably prayed for God to use him as an instrument, like at a soup kitchen or something.

All I can find on Castiel is that he's the angel of Thursday (!) and some sort of attache to the planet Jupiter.

I got the impression Sam's new mission is teetering on the edge of the abyss and Dean's task will be to stop him and bring him back. Surely there must be more to the Lilith storyline. It's not cool for that to just be over. Ruby's interest in Sam was based on using him to check Lilith's rise to power.

This looks like a very exciting season!

Zowie! You guys weren't kidding. That was a great season opener! I'd also been wondering if we'd see any of "the other side." I have a feeling that, ultimately, Sam and Dean won't like what 'the good guys' are going to ask them to do.

Just watched it. Amazing.

To think that this show started as a fun, episodic highly enjoyable show and has become, IMO, one of the best shows currently on TV.

I totally have a mancrush on Jensen Ackles.

Talking Ep. 2 - "Are You There, God?..."

I knew it! Lilith's plan is still underway. Wonderful, since we never knew what she was rising to power for last season. So instead "The Seventh Sign," we have the 66 signs. Which seal is the Rising of the Witnesses? Number 1 or number 65?! Do they need to be broken and realized in succession or can Lilith break a bunch at a time? Give up the details, man!

Nice that they put a sort of Sword of Damocles over Dean regarding his resurrection. I especially like that Castiel points out A) that angels are warriors and B) that they are not benevolent, beatific cherubs. He spoke harshly to Dean and let him know that angels can be ruthless and terrible too. How could they not given the sort of work they have to do? And now we know that angels have been in the fight all along (which only makes sense). Everyone has their part to play.

This raises the question of Ruby's motivation. Last year she was helping Sam because he was the best defense against Lilith. But she never said why. She never mentioned what Lilith's goal was or what was to happen if Sam defeated her. Ruby's reaction to the knowledge that an angel is afoot makes me wonder what she's hoping for. A peaceful existence on Earth? Because she clearly doesn't think God's going to forgive her. I find it hard to believe she's just gonna beat feet in the opposite direction.

Y'know what's so great about this show? It never disappoints. Of all the shows you can't wait to see each week, "Supernatural" never leaves you frustrated with too many questions, stupid plotholes or out of character actions. They give us laughs, action, mystery and pathos in an old bag of genre tricks. Unlike Lost and other BS shows.

If only more people watched this.
