Hi all,

I'd like to request that everybody be careful about their subject headings and the use of spoiler info in same. As unlikely as it may seem, there may still be people coming to this board who have not seen "X2" yet.

Assuming that, let's try to keep any mention of the specific plot point that the movie ends on and any related comic plots out of the subject headings.

WARNING: THE REST OF THIS MESSAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS

In other words, please avoid mentioning the death of Jean Grey and also the Phoenix or Dark Phoenix in your subject headings. You should certainly feel free to discuss them in your postings, but please preface any conversation of such with a spoiler warning (as above).

I believe that "X2" is most enjoyable and has the most impact when you don't see the Phoenix ending coming (an opinion Fox apparently doesn't share, since they all but showed it in the trailers).

obvoiusly, if fox does not care that the audience knows about phoenix, it isnt supposed to be a secret. also, if YOU have already seen the movie, what do you care? anyone who has not seen x-2 yet, and wishes to see it, shouldn't be coming to c2f website and looking at the x-men movie section. sheese!

Well, as I said, Fox ALL BUT spoiled it. The didn't quite, but almost. You see the distinction.

Because I, for one, don't like to have movies spoiled for me, so I can understand where others may not like it either. It's called empathy. Look into it.

No, not true. Lots of people were coming to these boards on a regular basis long before they'd seen the movie. In spite of the fact that the movie has been in theaters for about 12 days now doesn't mean everyone has necessarily had time to rush out and see it.

Indeed! It's a simple request for courtesy is all, which I have every right to make. No need to be a jackass.

My problem is that people tend to forget using spoiler space prior to the release of the film. If I don't go to the movie on opening weekend and come to this site then I kind of expect to be spoiled.

Do I need a Planet Of The Apes spoiler space?

I remember listening to Matt Drudge a few years ago and he said something like, I'm sick of these hollywood types, theyve even turned the Lincoln memorial into an ape at the end of the new Planet Of The Apes, and this was a full week before it was released. I was fuming at his total disregard for my desire to be surprised. Then I saw the movie and once I realized how lame it was i got over my anger.

You also fail to neglect that Comics2Film has an international readership. Though X2 had the widest international opening ever, it's still possible there are some readers who've simply been unable to see it.

Besides, does it hurt anything to add a spoiler warning?
