Okay, I've been putting a lot of thought into this as Nightwing is my all time favorite DC character (possibly my favorite comic hero period). But I can't come up with an actor who I could see playing the part.
The rest of the cast is not as hard to figure out, but Richard Grayson himself?, that’s another story. Now before I go putting my picks up, I thought I'd see what the level of interest is for this, so lets hear it folks... who do you see in this movie. Cast as many characters in the book as you would like. ------------------ "Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt." --William Shakespeare |

I could see Chris O'donell playing Nightwing.
In fact, I already have. |

I'm gonna move this to the Batman forum, as that's the umbrella this character falls under.

Jason Marsden, who played Burt Ward in Return to the Batcave could be Nightwing if only he was a bit taller.

You think Burt Ward would get angry if they didnt ask him to play the role? I seem to remember Adam West getting pretty steamed over Batman.

I have to admit I'm not a big fan of Chris for this part. I thought for the script he had he did okay, but I don't see that as the Richard Grayson from the Nightwing comic.
Lets hear who else you might cast from this comic as well; I.E. who would play; Barbara Gordon Det. Redhorn Nite Wing Cassidy Hogan etc... etc... |

I know he's too old for the character now but I've always seen Tom Cruise as the perfect choice for Dick Grayson/Nightwing. He has the look and the devil may care attitude that Dick has shown while being deadly serious about his work.
I'm not as up on the younger, newer actors in movies today so I really can't choose anyone more up-to-date even though I've heard talk of Jake Gyllenhall from Donnie Darko was considered as a replacement for Maguire if he couldn't do the Spider-Man sequel which leads me to believe he must be about the right size to play Nightwing because the character shouldn't be imposing like Batman or Superman. Just lithe and athletic. |

Nightwing has found his own audience outside the Bat titles as well. He might have been trained by and raised by the man, but, he changed the costume and name to distance himself from the image of "the boy wonder" and to get out from under the "shadow of the bat". Dick Grayson has carved his own niche in Bludhaven and with the Titans. I started this thread in the general topics forum because I am a huge fan of Nightwing and only pick up Bat titles if they cross over into his story. Nightwing is a much more interesting character to me than Batman ever was (My opinion of course). And I no longer associate him as a "Bat title" regardless of others views of him. I also consider the general forum an area where more people will take notice of this, not just Batfans... Thanks for hearing me out and for your great work with C2F in any case. ------------------ "Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt." --William Shakespeare |
