Apparently Kirsten Dunst will not be reprising her role as Mary Jane for a 4th Spider Man film. She also mentioned that Toby Mcguire might jump ship as well after the 3rd film. I would like to ask you, who you would like to see fill they're shoes should they leave? I just read an interview with Dunst, and let me just say that she sounds like the type of person a diehard C2F'er dreads..Just listen to this assinine suggestion she made for the 3rd part..

“It would actually be really interesting if SPIDER-MAN died. Why doesn’t the superhero ever die? I think if Mary Jane was alone, pregnant and he died, she could give birth to a spider baby and carry on the series with another young boy or something like that.."-Kirsten Dunst

UhhhhhGGGG!!! What a stupid idea!!!
She obviously has no idea what kind of fan base the comic book has. It's either that, or she just doesn't give a damn. I find that statement to show a lack of respect to the fans. They should never attempt a large story change like that. Instead, just get some fresh actors. There are so many great Spider Man stories, you could easily come up with material for a 4th and 5th part. Which brings me back to my question. Upon their departure who would you like to see replace Toby and Dunst?

Bear in mind that when Spidey 4 comes round to being made, there will be many new faces on the block. That means that people we might suggest now might be either too old or out of fashion by then. So if I were to suggest someone like Jake Gyllenhaal (as Spidey not Mary Jane), he might just be over the hill and unsuitable by then. We might even want a different type to a Toby Maguire type for Peter.

Well if Kirsten's out, I doubt her bf Gyllenhaal would take the role anyway. Then again Hollywood couples usually don't last that long anyway.

I'd like to see a break from the films after 3. Then I'd love to see another group of writers, actors and director take over. Maybe even start over or just do a different point of time.

Thats what I would like to see, enough time to detach from these actors and then see a new set of movies with a fresh group. There are plenty of Spidey story lines they could go with now, perhaps they could pop out with Ultimate Spidey for the next set, only prob then is having to start over with characters, which kinda sucks.

i agree. three movies is enough. anyway, tobey maguire said he doesn't want anybody else to play spider-man, because in a sense, he IS spider-man. and i agree with him on that one. it's like with chris reeve. christopher reeve played superman to perfection and he IS superman. i hate it when somebody plays somebody else's part in a sequel, like kilmer and clooney did. those bat-fakes.

Dude, don't be so close-minded. While Christopher Reeve was great as Supes', I will still be in line to see the next film in the series. I am sure it will live up to, and exceed everyone's expectations.
The problem with the Batman sequels wasn't the actors who stepped into Micheal Keatons shoes. The problem was that the films sucked all together. Val Kilmer is a "great" actor, and I am sure that he would have been just as good as Keaton was, had he been cast in the first film. The same goes for Clooney. Don't forget that an actor can be only as good as his script allows him to be. The words coming out of they're mouths are all written on paper before hand. I am just so tired of everybody bashing the leads of those films. And by the way, as long as the Spiderman films continue to be executed properly I have no problem with them making more and more sequels. I can't get enough Spidey' and hope this franchise has a long healthy life.
These are the words of a true fan!

you got me wrong. i have nothing against their acting abilities. i just don't like it when somebody else plays a part somebody else did. it just kinda breaks the continuity because the actor looks different allof a sudden. unless it's from an old movie, so i guess the new supes will be ok, since the last superman movie is more than a decade ago.

imagine if in return of the jedi, somebody else played luke or han solo.
