just got done picking my jaw up off the floor. marcelo gomes fastball pic just wowed me. i'll do a full uir later, just wanted to say wow. that metallic texture is wonderful for collosus. beautiful presentation, nice pose match up, the speed effect is nice (appears to get ahead of wolvie in a few spots, but thats minor). i just wanted to get this started, i'm sure you'll be getting alot of praise for this piece....full uir later.
and tokyo bastard has a great idea on green lantern...would be a great wb series....however the effects budget would be a bitch. dperceful |

Real quick review of pics that stand out to me:
Last Son Of Krypton: Superman. One of my heroes, and I love the pic. The New Supergirl: I also like the "softer" Supergirls, but Cir-El has promise (and, apprently, two different body forms, unlike Spidergirl). Nice pencil work. My work: My own worst critic. Someone else comment, please? Superman's Arrival: Nice little photo montage, there. I like the Flying-in-the-distance pic. ![]() The Son: Nifty. Manga Death: Heee. Good as always, Debbie! ![]() The Fastball Special: Way to go, Marcelo! ![]() And I'm off to bed. -JEM ------------------ Catapultam habeo. I'm trying to put down some quickies during the exams so here goes.
Localhero: Not gonna comment on the drawing thanks to some great art notes I like the dark moody atmosphere, but I think some subtle shading might have worked. The subtle hgihlights you do have are great, the eyes and chest specifically. But maybe something to make things seem more curved? Great work thoJemmstone: Don't know the character, but I'd say teh hair is too high on the top. I'd take about half the height from directly above her head. Also the height of the canvas is a little big leaving the Image empty looking. My suggestion would be to ethier move teh Be Ragged up to the top and keep it horizontal, or else cut the height. Or you could double the height and then have the get ragged further up. It's good tho, just needs a little more work to be big league. DennisBaptiste: I really like this. i dunno why it's just fun. Supes is a little yellow/bright and the people are in the same pose from the other frame but it's great fun. Maybe cast a shadow? LadyD: Ok, there's one thing that really stands out, the onyx. It's too straight, and thus doesn't look like it belongs. Try randomly distressing it with darken/lighten. Also there's some kind of wierd stark vertical division between the right and left of the jacket. ONe side's much brighter. Also you can see the areas wherre you've added hair, as it's a darker shade. lol, that all sounds negative, but there are some cool aspects. I like the pose, the eye art, and I think that the pict comes together really well, despite some minor things.Marcelo...Marcelo...Marcelo. Sheesh dude! This is awesome. Great work with the background, and lighting. Collossus looks great, as does Wolverine. I'd maybe make the base darker on Collussuss pants and then increases the highlights. Mike |

It's really rather frightening. I'm going for a more conservative look to her (and will be desaturating portions of the hair so it's not so bright). As to the text... you have a point, there. However, I am going for a certain effect, there, so I'll look at it when it's done and see what I see, then (which means I'll probably move it up quite a bit...) Thanks! -JEM ------------------ Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam. (I have a catapult. Pretty quick comments:
-Marcelo, essa figura está simplesmente perfeita.Odeio vc,odeio!! E pq o widescreen?É só charme?!-Jim: I wanna be invisible too!!*sobbing* I realyy liked the mood of the pic. -Tokyo_Bastard:Great job, thumbs up!! -dragon_lady:I liked the effect in her hand, the mix of the 2 pics to do the body is also good...but her hair looks pixaleted... -Juvenilemike:Thanks for the comments.I will explain because I am not used to let things bad finished...My monitor is having adjustment problems, and everything is looking too dark AND blue (all the red tones vanished and become black). As i started the pick,it was working, but I finished it with the monitor not really working. This probably explain the problems. My apologizes! Kisses everybody else! ------------------ **For the Freedom of Choice** http://www.livejournal.com/users/lady_d/ Debbie aka Lady D. |

sorry this has got to be quick.
superman: nice color job. muscles seem to pop. nice background. nice job on the cape. x3: make the phoenix image blend better and then we have something. her right eye seems raised a little much. new supergirl: very nice design. are the legs exposed or is it a light color for the legs? teaser 3: that lens flare is too much. nice effect on the ross sketch. ragged robin: i agree with you comments, this hair is tamer than images I saw of the character. betsy and elektra: it's knida small to really get in depth. poses are alright. in the brightest day: nice costume concept, i hate goggles though (not these, just goggles in general). nice costuming. supermans arrival: you just added the head, right? crying crow: for what it is, it's fine. league of ordinary gentlemen: probably would be better than the actual movie. the son: filters are fun. manga death: i saw a transforming a poser face to a manga style face tutorial and thought of you. i'll have to dig it up. looks good. fathom: neat water effect on the hand. hair edges are a little crisp. hulk vs thor: i think thor just crapped some thunder. sorry it was quick, but just like in real life a quickie is better than nothing at all. dperceful |
