That's the plan. Haven't decided what wood I'm going to use but it won't be particle board or plywood. Pine is one that comes to mind for smoothness and strength. Any other suggestions? Besides the fact that I will have the absolute most-redneck entertainment center of any Cinner?

You could make it more redneck by making it metalic using vinal siding.

In my experiance pine is pretty sturdy. Up in Canada we get really good ceder. If you're gunna paint it the wood doesn't matter as much. You want sturdy, but I hope that was rather obvious.

I love bent plywood furniture. So go hole yourself up somewhere else and leave me alone.

I'll have all the Swedish meatballs and lingonberries to myself, I was going to invite you, but you can just fend for yourself outside. :smirks:

If it's metal furniture you want, check out Crate and Barrel. I'd stay there, but they don't have food.

Tell you what. You bring over some Crate and Barrel stuff, and I'll let you have some showroom space at Ikea, and we'll share the food. :hugs:

This definitely beats the guy who spent 16 hours in a Home Depot. But he kept a halfway funny journal about his stay.

I am about to go to Wal-Mart.

No joke!

Where else can you get laundry detergent, milk, and King King?

If only Rush Limbaugh was on the radio at this hour. I could listen to him all the way there.

MWA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!

Pretty much any regular grocery store. Have you seen one without a video rack lately?

This is the entertainment center my husband built for (or around) our TV. The top center portion holds all our AV equipment, while the sides hold the DVDs. I think he used pine (PM me if you want me to double-check), he used at least two coats of black paint, and he special ordered the glass for the AV shelf at a cost of only about $10. I think it turned out well, and we get compliments for how the whole TV/entertainment center fits into the corner.
