With just two weeks before Universal Pictures unleashes their thriller The Fourth Kind into theaters, the studio has revealed a new featurette and clip courtesy of Yahoo Movies and MSN Movies. You can check out the new featurette in the video player below and clip here. It stars Milla Jovovich as psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler in a film written and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi.

Plot Concept: In 1972, a scale of measurement was established for alien encounters. When a UFO is sighted, it is called an encounter of the first kind. When evidence is collected, it is known as an encounter of the second kind. When contact is made with extraterrestrials, it is the third kind. The next level, abduction, is the fourth kind. This encounter has been the most difficult to document...until now.

Structured unlike any film before it, "The Fourth Kind" is a provocative thriller set in modern-day Nome, Alaska, where—mysteriously since the 1960s—a disproportionate number of the population has been reported missing every year. Despite multiple FBI investigations of the region, the truth has never been discovered.

Here in this remote region, psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) began videotaping sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovered some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented.

Using never-before-seen archival footage that is integrated into the film, "The Fourth Kind" exposes the terrified revelations of multiple witnesses. Their accounts of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details, the validity of which is investigated throughout the film.

The Fourth Kind will hit theaters November 6, 2009.

Milla Jovovich again graces our genre with her perfection!  I would watch this even if it looked sh*tty, but it looks real good.  http://www.persona-non-grata.com

I still think this looks a bit cheesy. All atmosphere and no substance. I'm sure the people under hypnosis are guided to say what the researcher thinks they should say. People sneaking into people's rooms are more likely burglars and molesters, rather than alien abductors.

I don't find Milla attractive at all but that aside I think this looks pretty damn good, I may check this out at the theater. Plus I like how it seems like a movie about a documentary movie about some real events

Wiseguy- You and I differ on this greatly. I see the movie about a documentary gimmick as tired and lame. It’s just a tactic to me to mask a lack of plot or good storytelling. I was watching TV this weekend with some people who do not know about this movie. The commercial came on and they all said that they could not believe its "real". I told them it was not. Instantly they all decided to not see this. The issue is that if you know or realize its all fake than it looses all sense of mystery. If your movie hangs on one gimmick that once removed the movie falls apart than you don’t have a very strong movie in my opinion.
By the way the IMAX Theater just opened here on October 2nd. My wife has already promised we will make Avatar a priority. Getting more excited about that film every week.

cool coverage, just saw this on twitter and decided to comment :)

contrary to what pilgram thinks, this movie is actually REALLY good. really scary, not fake at all. the real footage was well put together, if it's fake, then it sure had me fooled.

this was no where like blairwitch with shakey camcorder and all. it was actually relaly well thought out and in the end it really makes you question alot of things..

i won't spoil it, but REALLY great movie.

Oh and AVATAR is a must see too :) i'm looking forward to that one as well.

I'm glad to see directors taking a different approach. I liked Paranormal Activity because i think it set a tone that was creepy enough to keep the buzz going which is why it's #1 right now. People compare it to Blair Witch because of the video taping but its far better than Blair Witch in my opinion. District 9 is another original. I'm hoping the same for The Fourth Kind. I like the originality. i just hope it's as effective as the trailers. I'll still check it out.
