I'm pissed that they cancelled Alcatraz... I was looking forward to that show! "Touch" is SO STUPID!!!! How is that crap more interesting than "Alcatraz"????? Now we will never know what the hell happened. Goddammit!

Was it a good Call Maniacs? Who watched Alcatraz? At least Fringe can finish out the right way.

Alcatraz was good, with tons of potential. It just never delivered on the potential. It became too structured and formulaic. Introduce bad guy of the week, tie him to his past and his relationship with the warden, catch the bad guy and put him back in prison. The real story with Sam Neil never saw the light, and the warden was a great character. Too bad they messed this one up, it had a chance to be something awesome.
I liked Alcatraz, the finder was watchable, though I saw it getting tiresome real quick. A show getting picked up by Fox is like it getting picked up by a serial killer while hitch hiking, you get a short ride and it ends badly.
Fox cancelled something???????? NO WAY!!!!!
I dont even watch Fox anymore for this reason. If something survives then I catch it on DVD. Otherwise Im sick of getting into a show they just cancel.
My wife just asked me yesterday about Alcatraz. And she even made the comment "I hope they dont cancel that too." And here I read.... Too bad. I was looking forward to another round with Alcatraz.
Fox is the worst network on the planet lol Yeah Dollhouse over TTSCC panned out great for ya didn't it . Stupid fools !
I honestly didn't care for it, myself...seemed like a mediocre mash up of Lost and Fringe to me.
I gave Alcatraz a shot for the first four weeks or so, but it was way too much of a procedural for my tastes. Like Roqueja said, it followed the same formula every week. I see no reason why Fox deserves any negative backlash for cancelling either show since neither of them were ratings hits (and neither show was bounced around the schedule either, unlike series like Firefly or Fringe).
I liked the first handful of episodes of Alcatraz and got excited about it... but then it really did become to formulaic and lost it's apeal. I got behind on my DVR and never wanted to get caught up. I actually really enjoy Touch and I see bits a pieces of things to come in future episodes the way that Lost did and that keeps me coming back... plus just interested to see how they will be able to continue to do it and keep it interesting. Never got to see The Finder, but wanted to. I love Bones.
Yet another reason to stop watching fox. except for Fringe.... *facepalm*
