Fox has ordered a script from Matt Olmstead and Zack Estrin (producers of PRISON BREAK) for a new spin-off featuring a female prison and a new central character named Molly who will be introduced later this year in the original show. The show is tentatively titled PRISON BREAK:CHERRY HILL, says the Hollywood Reporter. If the spin-off falls through, the Molly character will stay on board the first show as a regular character.

Plot Concept: Molly is an upper-middle-class wife. After suffering a family tragedy at the hands of the Company -- the government conspiracy that framed Michael (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) and put them behind bars -- she seeks them out at the hellish Panamanian prison Sona in her quest to exact vengeance. Molly goes to a women's detention facility fully accepting the life sentence for her acts of revenge until she is contacted by the government with information that some of her loved ones are alive.

You know, there really is a lifespan to this idea. There's no point in extending this and beating a dead horse into a deader state of affairs. I haven't been watching this new season so maybe someone call tell me if it's awesome but... it just seems strained. I don't know why we can't just follow the British way of doing it for some shows and just leave it alone after it's run its course.

Ah...Caged Heat: The Series...this'll be good! NOT!

Chem, this season is good, but the idea for a spin-off is just stupid. That may work with shows like CSI, but not Prison Break. What makes Prison Break so good has mostly to do with Micheal and how he devises ways to get out of situations. Having a female Micheal, do the same thing is just redundant. If they are on the same show then that`s cool, because he has an equal, but not on 2 different shows. I don`t see it working.

STUPID CONCEPT .... i agree with spanners -- Caged Heat edited for TV .... like chicks are gonna break out of a maximum or even minimum security prison

I've heard this show was good, but I've never gotten into it. It just seems like an idea for a movie or a mini-series. Not an entire ongoing series, much less two series...

They should end the show this season and just start the spinoff next year.

Time for girl on girl on the run action. Fox needs to revamp their 1987 sitcom WOMEN IN PRISON, it was on Sundays after the Bundy's and before Friday the 13th the series.

You do realize that if you read the article and pay attention, it kinda gives away major spoilers for the season?

Damn, so how long is michael gonna be in Sona? I could have sworn he was on a really, really tight deadline. Maybe he gets Whistler out but doesn't get himself out?

As far as ending it after this season, I think I remember Wentworth saying that they could go as far as six seasons. I'm all for it as long as the show stays good. I honestly believe that everyone season has been better than the last.
