Fox Preview: Almost Human

Looks like a winner

This one we will have to wait on Maniacs. Sadly, Almost Human will not premiere until November 4th. The one thing I will say about this promo piece from Fox, boo on all the power words the cast say in this. How many times can we hear “new”, “exciting”, and “different” without rolling our eyes. The proof will arrive in November Fox. You are the ones that have to deliver.
The Plot: This action-packed police drama set 46 years in the future centers around the unlikely partnership between a part-machine cop and a part-human robot. Executive-produced by Emmy Award winner J.J. Abrams ("Fringe," "Lost," the "Star Trek" and "Mission: Impossible" franchises) and creator J.H. Wyman ("Fringe," "The Mexican") and starring Karl Urban ("Star Trek"), Michael Ealy ("Sleeper Cell," "Common Law") and Emmy Award nominee Lili Taylor ("Six Feet Under,"), ALMOST HUMAN is a high-tech, high-stakes action drama set 46 years in the future, when police officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. An unlikely partnership is forged when a part-machine cop (Urban) is forced to pair with a part-human robot (Ealy) as they fight crime and investigate a deeper cover-up in a futuristic new world.
Almost Human arrives November 4th, 2013.

been excited for this since I heard it was happening, Karl Urban on TV!!  It won't be hard to make it look good, story elements are what concern me, if you're gonna make it a cop show, it has to be a damn good cop show!!  If they accomplish that, this show will be just fine.

Yeah it looks like a great cast.  I hope they can pull off a great story as well.  I'll definitely check it out.

So... is it set 46 years in the future or 35 years in the future?

Or was the plot re-tooled between the beginning and the end of the synopsis?

RobertTrate 8/28/2013 1:03:29 PM

I noticed that too. They say 46 in the video Nd 35 on the press release.

Guessing something has happened in the future and sterility and or very low birthrates has become a problem , thus the need for synthetic persons to keep society functioning.

The future of this show is probably involves synthetics eventually replacing their creators.

To be clear, Robert, I figured that was the press release and not you guys.

Apparently none of the cast ever saw Tekwar
