With the early announcements that Fox was renewing "Dollhouse" and NBC was renewing "Chuck", fans were holding out hope that Fox would also give a last minute reprieve for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles." That seems not to be the case here with the network confirming it has been canceled.
While 20th Century Fox revealed their primetime slate for the 2009-2010 season on Monday, Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly also gave a brief explanation on not bringing "Sarah Connor Chronicles" back for a third season.
"It was not an inexpensive show," says Reilly on the Terminator's fate. "We looked at ratings track where it had a consistent run. That trend line was not pointing in the right direction. We did a huge launch with that show. It was time to move on."

Next season, we're bringing back two top-rated sophomore dramas and using our hits to introduce a broad and compelling slate of new shows that will make our air even more vibrant and alive."
After a special preview event airing Tuesday, May 19 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), GLEE, the distinctive new comedy from Ryan Murphy ("Nip/Tuck") starring Jane Lynch ("The 40 Year Old Virgin") and newcomers Matthew Morrison (Broadway's "Hairspray"), Lea Michele ("Spring Awakening") and Cory Monteith ("Kyle XY"), will enter its freshman year this fall. Combining biting humor with a soundtrack of hit music from past to present, the inventive series follows an optimistic high school teacher who against all odds attempts to restore McKinley High's fading Glee Club to its former glory, while helping a group of underdogs realize their true star potential.
Two additional new comedies will premiere this fall. From the producers of FAMILY GUY, comes THE CLEVELAND SHOW. The new Sunday night animated comedy follows everyone's favorite soft-spoken FAMILY GUY neighbor, CLEVELAND BROWN (Mike Henry), who moves with his son back to his hometown in Virginia and settles down with his high school sweetheart and her unruly kids. BROTHERS, starring Michael Strahan ("FOX NFL Sunday") and Daryl "Chill" Mitchell ("Ed," "Veronica's Closet"), is a new half-hour comedy about a former big-city NFL hot shot who returns home to his family and his mother's house to get his life back on track.
On Saturday, Nov. 7 (11:00 PM-Midnight ET/PT), late night will never be the same when Emmy Award winner Wanda Sykes returns to FOX to host THE WANDA SYKES SHOW (working title). The irreverent Saturday late-night series will feature Sykes' outspoken comedic perspective on current events along with topical, high-energy roundtable discussions.
The new event drama, HUMAN TARGET, premieres with a special preview Sunday, Jan. 17 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) following the NFC Divisional Playoff game. HUMAN TARGET is a full-throttle, action-packed thrill ride from executive producers McG ("Terminator Salvation") and Simon West ("Con Air," "Tomb Raider"). Based on the popular DC Comics graphic novel and starring Mark Valley (FRINGE), Chi McBride ("Pushing Daisies") and Academy Award nominee Jackie Earle Haley ("Watchmen"), the series follows CHRISTOPHER CHANCE (Valley), a unique private contractor who will stop at nothing even if it means becoming a human target to keep his clients alive.
The other drama for midseason is PAST LIFE, a fast-paced emotional thriller inspired by the book "The Reincarnationist." The series stars Kelli Giddish ("All My Children") as a gifted psychologist and Nicholas Bishop ("Home and Away") as a former NYPD detective who work together to explore and unravel mysteries that must be solved in both the past and the present.
One new comedy is scheduled to premiere in midseason. From three-time Emmy Award winner Todd Holland ("Malcolm in the Middle"), the non-traditional family comedy SONS OF TUCSON stars Tyler Labine ("Reaper") as a charming but wayward schemer hired by three young brothers whose father is in prison.
Summer sensation SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE moves to the fall with its sixth season. Hosted by Cat Deeley and featuring renowned judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy, the original dance competition series will continue to inspire and amaze viewers as dancers skilled in styles ranging from hip-hop to ballroom compete to be named America's Favorite Dancer.
It was also announced that the eighth season of 24 will return to the FOX schedule with a two-night, four-hour premiere as part of a special extended primetime on Sunday, Jan. 17 (9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT), immediately following the premiere of HUMAN TARGET. The next installment of the Emmy Award-winning series starring Kiefer Sutherland will unfold in New York City, amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations.

I done told all you guys since the beginning of the season but no one wanted to listen to me. Since the sucking of balls arrived on the show it was doomed. The first season was good but then they added Shirley Manson and it went straight to the depths of hell! Damn you Manson, damn youuuuuuuuu!!

Well I still had my fingers crossed that TSCC would get another reprieve. Can't blame Manson for that, the ratings just weren't there, even before her arrival. Maybe it's better off left for the big screen anyway.
I find it funny how everyone seems to hate Fox but still keep tuning in. This network and its sister FX, even though I'm not a big fan, have put on some pretty decent shows and some that other networks would've balked on. You can't blame them if shows get cancelled for low ratings that can't justify their budget.

Their sunday animation block, Fringe and 24 are the only regular things I'll be watching. Hate House, couldn't get into Dollhouse and nothing new is striking my fancy

I agree with Hobbs comment about American Idol. Shirley Manson was not the Downfall of SCC putting it on Friday Nights and making it unintersting for the majority of the season was what killed the show. The last few episodes were some of the best of the whole series but too little to late. We won't get all 13 episodes of Dollhouse either if they are going to keep it on Fridays "the place where shows go to die". Not thrilled with Fringe on thursdays either, that puts it up against "Grey's Lameatomy" and no women will let her man watch Fringe instead of seeing which doctor hooks up with which doctor while they save another doctor from brain cancer. (I have never seen the show but thats what it looks like from the previews)
Fox is one of the stupid networks around, they cancell good shows, have been for years. It's time they left, I only watch House on another network. Fox is gay and stupid, they ruined more than enough shows and they blow.

WOW. First suggestion, change the name from FOX to SUX. That is what all this is. The point before is dead on, these asshats are hanging their entire empire on one show whose popularity will eventually begin to wane as the newness wears off. American Idol is amusing simply for Simon and seeing how much of a jackass he will be.
As for the lineup, I am SO pissed about SCC. They can not leave us in a cliffhanger like that, that is SO FUCKED UP. They need to do a movie on tv and at least wrap up the final plot lines to tie into the movie verse again.
Lastly, I love the lineup on Sundays, football then awesome comedies back to back. I am going to miss King of the Hill though, it really hit close to the reality of Texas and the life there. The new stuff they are putting out is just freaking amazing, it is like they have a brain damaged, partially retarded monkey slinging shit at the wall and whatever sticks is the show concept they go with. I mean seriously god forbid please bring back some intellegent, formidable shows. Last show I loved that got canceled was Boston Legal and don't tell me Obama did not have something to do with that bullshit.
I saw this cartoon when I was young that talked about the future and made this joke about how we had 10000 channels and still nothing to watch. That is the way it is becoming it seems, 400 channels on the satellite and 99% of the stuff on is utter shit. I like some stuff discovery channel has and history channel is usually entertaining. Most of it though, crap. Fox, you began your entry into the TV realm as being the network with edgy, different shows that would shock America, how about lets find something worth putting on and for fucks sake hire someone that can come up with a good idea or two. Please.
