With Marvel and Disney gearing up with projects into the distant future, Fox and Marvel have now made a few announcements of their own. We have dates for Fantastic Four 2 as well as the next Wolverine movie.

The studio announced The Fantastic Four 2 will open July 14, 2017, while an untitled Wolverine film will open March 3, 2017. Fox has also slated an untitled Marvel film for July 13, 2018.

Fox owns the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises, so the mystery 2018 Marvel film could draw from either of those. It's not unthinkable that the project might even be a crossover between the two”.

So will we finally have a cross over between these two properties? The interesting thing is who will be left from the original cast of the X-Men franchise? X-Men: Apocalypse will feature the X-Men of the First Class franchise. Will that include Hugh Jackman as a one-handed savage Wolverine? All these films are a long way off and anything can happen.

Still hope the Fox FF movie falls through and the rights revert back to Marvel.  However, that will NEVER happen.

There's so much bad blood between Fox and Marvel/Disney that Fox would rather waste money on a mediocre property like the FF than have the rights revert back.

How do you greenlite a sequel to a movie, that hasn't even begun filming on. Add into it, the Fan outrage and utter disgust at the way the characters are being handled.  FOX just doesn't have a clue.  They are simply riding the coattails of Marvel Studios, hoping that the general audiance doesn't know that Marvel has nothing to do with the quailty of these movies.

Is the X-Men: Apocalypse gonna be an interpretation of the Age of Apocalypse storyline?  Thats one of my favorite storylines in comics, and would love to see on film, but aren't we just finishing up DOFP which is also an alternate timeline story?  Maybe it will flow nicely into each other... Oh wait, FOX is still attached, Its gonna blow!

The fan outrage and negative publicity is so high that Josh Trank has deleted his twtter feed. Fox has threatened websites that leak plot details weather they're true or not. It wouldn't surprise me if Trank is regretting taking the job in the first place.

I wonder if Trank and Fox show up at Comic Con.

I don't know where you guys come up with this stuff.  It's like Fox held Disney at gunpoint (remember Marvel, like LucasFilms is just a logo under the Disney umbrella now) and forced them to turn over the rights to Fantastic 4 and X-Men.  It's more like Mega -Corporation Disney made a business decision...How can we make even more money off these comic book characters?...We can sell off the rights to a few of them to other studios.  Anyway these movies aren't coming out for another 3 years...so who cares...we can revisit this conversation a couple of years from now, if this website is still around.

ElBaz13 3/21/2014 4:51:27 PM

But will you still be around?

What part of Lazarus' rant did you not get the last time?

Disney bought Marvel after Marvel sold the rights to Fox when they were about to go bankrupt. They had no choice at the time. It was either that or bye bye Marvel comics.

Our rants are more about how thise studio doesn't give a flying f.uck about the product. Why would they? it's not like they are selling the merchandise related to it. Doing these s.hit movies is a huge slap in the face to the diehard fans. No respect for the source material. They are just doing it to extended the rights.

Oh look, more Fox movies I am not going to watch.  LOL  Make mine MARVEL.

blank it's obvious you do not know what you're talking about

Meh and Double Meh.  The casting on the FF is so bad I could care less.  As for another Wolverine movie, I may wait to see it on Netflix or the $5.00 Bargain Bin (and even then, only iof a buddy of mine buys it!).  That's how excited I am for Fox's comic book properties...and the sad part is, I'm an FF and X-Men fan!
