Movies about bad guys as the lead rarely work and it being Fox I don't expect them to pull it off.

Comics2Film at Mania.com has learned from several sources that a 'Deadpool' movie, spinning out of the blockbuster 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' is a virtual certainty.
Ryan Reynolds would topline the feature based on Marvel's mutant merc with a mouth. Although the character's appearance and abilities in the 'Wolverine' movie are significantly altered, filmmakers aim to bring him back in manner more consistent with the comic book character.
Plans for a 'Deadpool' movie will likely surprise no one. Marvel has been developing the project for many years, and Ryan Reynolds has been loosely attached to such a project for over five years now. Casting him in the relatively small role for the 'Wolverine' seemed to signal affirmation that the film partially serves as a pilot for other Marvel features at Fox, with 'Gambit' being another likely contender.
Indeed, last November, Fox let slip that 'Deadpool' was a component of their future Marvel movie game plan. With the big box office done by the new film and fan interest in the character tracking well, the spin-off is now a "top priority" says one source.
One of the post-credits sequences that ran with the 'Wolverine' movie teased Deadpool's comeback. Announcements are expected within the week.
What do you think, Maniacs? Ryan Reynolds killed it as Wade Wilson in the first leg of WOLVERINE, but would you go to see a feature built around the character? Post your comments below.

Movies about bad guys can work. As long as there is a worse bad guy to fight!
It's Elektra all over again folks. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It's a natural. I was never a big fan of Deadpool but I can see the desire for aspinoff. Have him be humrous and break the third wall between the movie and the audience like he does in the comic. Also team him up with Gambit for the first movie.
Sanity, you may be sick of Fox's X-movies but with this success they are never gonna give this franchise back to Marvel. I would like it if for Marvel's Captain America movie they allowed Jackman to cameo in a WWII scene.
We all saw this coming so im pretty stoked that it's confirmed. This movie will be sick, cuz hopefully FOX is learning their lessons from all the other bullshit they've done. The only thing that bothered me was how Fox is acting like they're moving into more marvel territory and taking over.......
"Fox let slip that 'Deadpool' was a component of THEIR FUTURE MARVEL movie game plan." How many more Marvel movies do they plan on ruining??? Marvel! please get your rights back somehow!!
Violator: Fox has thier mitts on X-Men, Fantastic Four and Daredevil. These rights usually come with a bundle of characters that are seen as part of the franchise (Elektra, Silver Surfer, Gambit, Deadpool).
I'm sure Fox's contracts allow them to retain the film rights in perpetuity as long as they hit certain checkpoints (like paying renewal fees and/or making a movie every x number of years).
Marvel movies have proven to be easy box office and Fox will never, ever, ever let the rights lapse.

X-Men, Daredevil, Elektra, Fantastic Four, Wolverine. How many films does it take to learn?
Deadpool better have his mouth. One of my big gripes with the Spiderman movies was the lack smartass remarks from Spiderman.
Yea Ryan is perfect for the part and he wants to do it,but i want to see the signature DeadPool costume.
