While talking in an exclusive interview with CINESCAPE, CLOCKSTOPPERS director Jonathan Frakes revealed that despite the fact he'd delivered so much to Paramount Studios with his acting and directing work in STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, he had a hard time winning over the suits and production partner Nickelodeon.

"Actually, our biggest hurdle with the studio was to sell the logic of the movie so that they would understand it and therefore when we made the movie, the audience would understand it, which I think we [ultimately] did," Frakes told us. "That the concept of speeding molecules up so fast that everything else around you seems to be slowed down to almost nothing, and then at the end [of the film] the hyper-hyper-timeit seems simple as we talk about it, but it was something that had to get to a place that it was going to be a simple enough concept that the audience would get it and that the studio would go ahead and spend the money to make a movie about it, essentially."
