Veteran actor Frank Langella will be joining the horror film, THE BOX, says Variety. In fact, he'll be the one setting Cameron Diaz into motion of this horror film by giving her the box. Production is set to begin on this flick by director Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) sometime in mid-November. The film is based off the short story "Button, Button" by author Richard Matheson. Sean McKittrick and Ted Hamm are handling the producing credits for this horror.

Plot Concept: Diaz will play a young woman given a mysterious box by a stranger (Langella). She's told that certain things will happen depending on which buttons she presses.

When did they decide to do a remake of Hellraiser?

Cameron Diaz... Mysterious Box...

To easy.

The story this movie came from came out before Hellraiser and I'm almost willing to bet Richard Matheson is one of Clive Barker's influences. I don't know where you get Hellraiser out of this in the first place. Just because they have a box in common. That's like saying 300 is a remake of Troy which is a remake of Gladiator and so on...you can do that with any kind of movie that even has the vaguest connection. Crazy.

The story was also previously adapted on one of the latter versions of the TWILIGHT ZONE.

Couldn't they have picked an attractive actress? Why must we be subjected to Diaz' mug?

I'm with WISEGUY. I continue to wonder what is more overrated; her acting ability or her sex appeal

The same thing happened in Saturday Night Live. It's a D$ck in a Box.
