We got some bad and puzzling news for those looking forward to 20th Century Fox’s adaptation of Frankenstein. The Hollywood Reporter is stating that FOX will be pushing the film back to January 2015. Why? So it won’t compete with Legendary’s Dracula Untold starring Luke Evans and Dominic Cooper.

Frankenstein, starring James McAvoy as Victor Von Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe as Igor, was to have opened Oct. 17, 2014, two weeks after Dracula Untold hits theaters on Oct. 3. Now, Frankenstein won't open until Jan. 16, 2015”.

Competition with the Legendary picture is probably not the reason for the film leaving October. David Fincher’s Gone Girl, starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, has been slated for Oct. 3rd and the animated family film Book of Life (by Guillermo del Toro) is now on Oct. 17th. It looks like the overcrowding of FOX pictures is more the reason. However, does it seem like FOX has no clue as this film is about Frankenstein and is perfect for October? Perhaps Frankenstein isn’t going so well, production wise.

I guess some of the Fox execs in charge of other Oct. '14 movie projects have more pull than the ones in charge of Frankenstein. "No YOU move your movie. Or else you lose you parking space."

I still want Universal to remake the James Whale version with Michael Shannon taking over from Boris Karloff as the Monster..!

I'm not sure how I feel about this movie. I'll reserve my opinions until after I learn more about it. Is this is going to be a funny spoof or some over the top special effects driven adventure horror flick like Brendan Fraser's Mummy movies? The fact that there was no charactor named Igor in the book or in Whale's 1932 movie makes me wonder the direction this remake will take.

Move it to 3015 cuz I don't care.

DarthBob, lmfao!!! I would have gone with  year 40,000 when actors are replaced by total holograms...
