In this age of digital creations and computer painted imagery, it is refreshing to see filmmakers like Tim Burton using real world effects to tell a story. Burton is using these techniques, again, on one of his original short films Frankenweenie (1984). Only this time Frankenweenie will be a full length feature. Mania fully appreciates the artistry involved and it is great that IMDB has posted pictures of the making of the new Frankenweenie. These pictures display the actual scale in which Burton and his collaborators are working on (literally).
The comedy will feature the voices of Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer, Conchata Ferrell and Robert Capron. Burton helmed the production, based on a script by John August.
Plot Concept: From creative genius Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland, The Nightmare Before Christmas) comes Frankenweenie, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous.

What no Depp? It does seem he tossed his old muse Ryder a bone. Literally.
