Freestyle Releasing has grabbed the domestic distribution rights for actor-turned-producer Rick Yune's martial arts flick, THE FIFTH COMMANDMENT, says the Hollywood Reporter. Yune wrote the English-language screenplay for this action film and handled it as a producer for director John Z. Lee. Freestyle plans to release it in at least 1,000 theaters next March.

Plot Summary: Yune ("Die Another Day") plays a trained assassin who turns down an assignment to kill a pop singer (Dania Ramirez) because her bodyguard is his half brother (Bokeem Woodbine). The siblings soon find themselves targeted in Bangkok by every top assassin in the world, forcing them to rely on the training of their tough father (Keith David).

This sounds decent except for the whole half-brother detail which leads me to ask is Jean Claude Van Damme or Steven Segal directing this movie?

kinda sounds like an amped up version of THE BODYGUARD -- which isn't a bad thing. that girl Dania Ramirez is that rather hot chick who's one of the wonder twins in HEROES and was in XMEN3. this could be good.

of course, it "could"... and it could go wrong too. did a search for this and there's a trailer here: http://www.t-5-c.com/

but it's weird. it looks good, and IMDb says "2006" as it's date. so maybe it sat on a shelf or something... trailer looks good. we'll see.

I wonder if Kevin Costner is even DOING that remake/sequel of THE BODYGUARD he's been talking about. with this, I don't know if he needs to. I kinda like the assassin part of it, it allows lots of shooting and killing.

but again, we'll see about this one.
