Friday the 13th Back at Paramount

Jason will rise again!

Jason fans rejoice! Mr. Voorhees will rise again. Who do you have to thank? Well Christopher Nolan of course. Now before you say Holy Hockey Mask Batman, Nolan will not be involved with a sequel to the 2009 relaunch. His up coming film Interstellar figured into the deal and allowed Paramount to reacquire their favorite serial killer.

From The Hollywood Reporter: “When Paramount and Warner Bros. teamed up on Christopher Nolan’s latest movie project, Interstellar, in January, some wondered how Warners made its way on board a project set up at a rival studio.

Now, months later,The Hollywood Reporter has learned more about the price that Warners had to pay in exchange for half the Nolan project. The cast of characters includes Friday the 13th villain Jason Voorhees as well as the foul-mouthed kids from South Park”.

Check out the full story here on The Hollywood Reporter. It’s all about who had who’s toys and who wanted a piece of the the next Nolan project. Take into consideration that and who had the legal rights and it’s a lot of mumbo jumbo.

The good news is if you are a fan of Friday the 13th, whether that be the 2009 version or as far back as 1980, another film will be in the works now.

WB really loves Nolan, as well they should after all the money he made them.

Anyway I had read that Paramount was more than happy being that the Interstellar budget is really up there so now they have someone to split the risk with.

Paramount has 5 years to use the Fri. 13th and SP licenses and make a film. SP is the question mark because of the creators.

And the cherry on top for Paramount is they get to co-produce an A-list property of WB. My guess it'll be a superhero film, either Batman, MOS2 or JL.

I read this article yesterday and when they said paramount gets to co-finances an A list WB property I was thinking JL also. It might have a huge budget. But who knows it could be a completely different type of movie. Non superhero I mean.

Dont forget The Hobbit trilogy or another Sherlock movie.

A dream about a summer camp within a dream about a summer camp within a dream about a summer camp.  The Nolan twist?'s fat camp.

Wiseguy, that's a two way door. WB helps produce and distribute Nolan's work and Nolan himself has become very very wealthy partnering with them. It would not surprise me if he (Nolan) is not soon offered a seat on the board of directors at WB.

Wow, on an article about Friday the 13th, which the article clearly states that it has nothing to  directly do with Nolan, people just can't help themselves from their Nolan worship. I say again, the article is about Friday the 13th, NOT Nolan. Jeez.
