By: Randall LarsonDate: Thursday, September 22, 2005
BSX Records presents brand new digital recordings of the original scores from the motion pictures FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 7: THE NEW BLOOD and FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 8: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN, starring Kane Hodder as Jason Voorhees, everyone's favorite camp counselor from Camp Crystal Lake, featuring music composed and performed by Fred Mollin (FOREVER KNIGHT, FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE TV SERIES).
In FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 7: THE NEW BLOOD, Jason is accidentally released from his watery grave at the bottom of Crystal Lake by a girl with telekinetic powers that she can't control. Teens drink alcohol, smoke marijuana and have unprotected sexual encounters, culminating with some unexpected face time with Jason.
In FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 8: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN, Jason stows away on a cruise ship bound for New York. The passengers consist of the graduating class of the local high school. Teens drink alcohol, smoke marijuana and have unprotected sexual encounters, culminating with some more unexpected face time with Jason. One by one, Jason pays his respects and then sinks the ship but some of the students are able to escape to Manhattan. Now, the Big Apple's in BIG trouble...
BSX Records presents the World Premiere release of these two film scores, produced under license from It's Been Real Music and containing the complete scores composed by Fred Mollin for both films newly recorded for this CD release.
This release does not contain any music composed by Harry Manfredini, the original FRIDAY THE 13TH composer. For PART 7, Fred wrote his score around music previously composed by Manfredini for earlier FRIDAY THE 13TH films and FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 8 features music composed solely by Fred Mollin.
This is a brand new digital recording produced by Mr. Mollin for BSX Records and is limited to 1,000 units. The booklet includes liner notes written by the composer.
