FRIDAY THE 13TH Silver Anniversary Weekend

The largest ensemble of fans of and stars from all ten Friday the 13th films will assemble for a three-day convention celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of the original Friday the 13th, the film often credited with launching the "slasher" sub-genre of horror films. This weekend is organized by fans for fans everywhere and is sponsored by Necrocomicon.com,

Guests will include: Sean S. Cunningham, director of the 1980 classic and producer of the sequels, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday and Freddy Vs. Jason; Betsy Palmer, the original Mrs. Voorhees; Corey Feldman who appeared in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter and Friday the 13th: A New Beginning.

The Friday the 13th Silver Anniversary Celebration Weekend events and activities will include:

Celebrity guests Sean S. Cunningham (Friday 8-10 PM), Betsy Palmer, Tom Savini (special effects makeup artist Friday the 13th and Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter), Adrienne King (heroine from the original Friday the 13th & Friday the 13th Part 2), Ari Lehman (original Jason Voorhees), Corey Feldman (Saturday 2-6 PM) and more. Select guests will complete autograph signing sessions.

Celebrity Cocktail party hosted by Lar Park Lincoln (star of Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood). There will also be a live performances by Order of the Fly & Freak13 (with special guest Ari Lehman a.k.a "Young Jason").


Below is a tenative schedule for the screenings:
Friday - Friday the 13th & Friday the 13th Part 2
Saturday - Friday the 13th Part 3 & Friday the 13th IV: The Final Chapter, Friday the 13th V: The New Beginning
Sunday - Friday the 13th VI: Jason Lives, Friday the 13th VII: New Blood, Friday the 13th VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.

PLUS- Each night special fan film entries will be screened.

The event will be held at three locations on Hollywood & Highland in Los Angeles, California.

I don't know about you, but I could really give a monkey's left testicle about this thing. I mean granted I loved all these flicks for their campyness and the occasional cool death scene, but I can't see spending money to go to something like this. I mean at least Trekkies haver merchandise and assorted costumes...and maybe find someone with Vulcan ears who will have sex with them. But, Jason fans...huh.

Each thier own. Personally, I think this would be a cack. Seeing these films in a room full of fans, rather than an empty cinema with patrons looking at the door would be a lot of fun. But that's just me. Still serverly disapointed they'll never do Freddy vs Jason vs Ash.
