I'm attempting to get into this Show but the first season seems really weak. Please tell me it gets better...

It does. The first season ends on a great hook. You will not be disppointed!

I have a rule regarding TV shows.

If it doesn't catch my attention in the first 20 minutes of the pilot, then I don't bother watching it. Why force yourself to watch it if it simply isn't working for you? Some things just aren't for everyone. This show never appealed to many people which is why it's ratings stunk for 5 years. I think it was too smart for a lot of people who rather watch reality shows that require no thinking.

Fringe for me was a show that sucked me in during its opening sequence and never let go. I always hear fans say that the first season was a little weak, especially the first 10 episodes. I never understand if we were watching the same show as I felt the first 10 episodes were really good especially from the episode "The Arrival" and on. It always takes a show some time to get comfortable with itself, but those episodes were obviously good enough to suck some us into the show's universe. From the get-go, I loved Walter Bishop. I also knew immediately that I was going to enjoy this show more than the X-Files.

This show became one of my all-time favorite sci-fi series and I will deeply miss the exploits of Walter Bishop, Peter ( who I became very attached to), and Olive. Thank you to John Noble for giving us such an amazing, complex, and heartfelt character. Walter should be remembered as one of the greatest TV characters ever and it is a damn shame that none of the award committees have recognized his contribution to great TV.

I to will miss Fringe here in the UK - one of the best written sci fi series in decades, all the cast and crew should be commended for entertaining us for 5 years - I will miss you all - farewell!

I'm gonna miss this show. Now I have to find something else to watch. Maybe Touch with Keifer Southerland?

One of my favorite shows. It will really be missed. Here's hoping The Following turns out to be as good as it looks.

@death - Fringe won a few Saturn awards.  Both Noble and Torv,  Was nominated for Emmys, but tha's about it.

I sort of disagree with your statment about the first 5 minutes.  Haven was a hard one for me to get into, but I ended up really getting into it by mid first season.

That's just my own personal philosophy regarding shows. I don't expect everyone to follow it, but it has served me well. And Noble or Torv were never nominated for Emmy's dude. But Noble's name deserved to be recognized among the finest actors on television. The Saturn awards are nice, but only a certain crowd follow those awards. I feel that Noble's work is better than actors like Bryan Cranston and Michael C. Hall, but he never gets recognized among those actors.

I like this show alot but the PARADOX they set up with....

RESETTING TIME. If they reset the time line so that the Observers were never created then, first of all, NONE of the events that transpired to have the FBI get Walter out of the psych ward would have occured so Olivia would have never met Peter. Second, September, an observer, would not have existed, so his son the anomoly, later called Michael, would not have been created, therefore they would have never been able to send him to the future to reset time. Thus the paradox. It just shows how weak JJ's grasp of scifi REALLY is. Anyone that wants to do a time travel scifi show needs to watch Dr Who but specificly the seasons done by Russell T Davies. He has a great grasp of Paradox Resolution.

Aside from that I liked this series alot.

I was more than surprised every season that it got renewed by FOX and shoked they actually gave a SciFi show a chance to be resolved properly rather than just cancel it.
