Press Release: El Rey Network, Robert Rodriguez's new genre-busting cable network, is excited to announce the World Premiere of the highly-anticipated From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series at the 28th annual South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas.  Following its World Premiere screening at SXSW, the series will debut on El Rey Network on Tuesday, March 11 at 9 PM ET/PT. The series, created and executive produced by filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, El Rey Network Founder and Chairman, is based on the cult classic film of the same name.  Rodriguez directed the premiere episode which will be screened at the festival.
"As an Austinite and longtime fan of the festival, I could not be more excited to debut the premiere episode of FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: THE SERIES at SXSW this year," Rodriguez said.  "I'm honored that the series has been selected and that we will have the chance to not only debut this action-packed TV show but also present the voice of the El Rey Network." 
From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series is a 10-episode supernatural crime saga which debuts March 11 at 9 pm ET/PT on El Rey Network (check local listings).  The series features an international cast including D.J. Cotrona (Dear John, G.I. Joe: Retaliation);Zane Holtz (Holes, The Perks of Being a Wallflower); Jesse Garcia (Quinceañera, Sons of Anarchy); Eiza González (Lola: Érase Una Vez); Wilmer Valderrama (That '70s Show, To Whom It May Concern); Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights, G.I. Joe: Retaliation); Jake Busey (Starship Troopers, Enemy of the State, Identity); Don Johnson (Django Unchained, Nash Bridges); Madison Davenport (Save Me,Shameless); Brandon Soo Hoo (Tropic Thunder, Ender's Game, Incredible Crew);Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The X-Files); and Lane Garrison(Bonnie & Clyde, Prison Break.).  Emmy-Winning Special Effects wizard Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead) oversees make-up effects for the series.  Rodriguez and cast members will be in attendance for the World Premiere at SXSW.
Synopsis: Based on the thrill-ride film, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series is a supernatural crime saga centered around bank robber, Seth Gecko (Cotrona) and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard "Richie" Gecko (Holtz), who are wanted by the FBI and Texas Rangers Earl McGraw (Johnson) and Freddie Gonzalez (Garcia) after a bank heist leaves several people dead. While on the run to Mexico, Seth and Richie encounter former pastor Jacob Fuller (Patrick) and his family, whom they take hostage.  Using the family RV to cross the border, chaos ensues when the group detours to a strip club that is populated by vampires.  They are forced to fight until dawn in order to get out alive. The series deepens the tone and expands the storyline of the film, adds new characters and backstories, and explores the Mesoamerican mythology behind the creatures inside the club.   

From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series premieres on March 11th only on El Rey Network.

This actually looks good. But, what the hell is the El Rey Network?

I'll be watching....don't like remakes like the rest but they could really expand on this great old movie. 

Also they had me at Don Johnson being a badass again.  Sometimes that's all it takes.  I also have to search for this network, which will probably make the network, if they are keeping it unrated it will be more so great with cussing and boobs.  Really a show for adults and not sparkley vamps for teenie girlies.

 This looked a little intriguing.  I'm also a fan of Don Johnson, but when I went to the El Ray Network website I learned that my cable TV provider doesn't carry the El Ray Network.  The El Ray website posted a note after my search imploring me to call my cable provider and tell them that I want the El Ray Network.  I doubt that I'll bother with that.
