With Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar poised to launch their latest Toy Story short "Small Fry" into theaters this weekend attached to The Muppets, the animated powerhouse has also decided this is the best time to launch a full new trailer for their next animated adventure, Brave. Watch it in the video player down below. The animated powerhouse's next potential hit will feature the voices of Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Julie Walters, Kevin McKidd, Robbie Coltrane and Craig Ferguson. Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman shared the directing duties.

Plot Concept: Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In "Brave," a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane). Merida's actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it's too late.

Brave arrives in 3D/2D theaters June 22, 2012.

Just saw the trailer on you tube... Even I have to admit that this looks really good. But this is pixar and not Disney lol - Just about everything pixar has done is worth looking into with the exception of maybe cars 2

Looking forward to it.

Went to youtube, then Apple for the best HD. It is that fantastic Pixar quality. But for some reason, I'm not feeling the subject matter. It kind of makes me feel I'm looking at an imitation of Dreamworks' How to Train Your Dragon. But even though Dragon was fantastic, Brave will mostly likely be better.

I think it looks great. Like monkeyfoot I got that How to Train Your Dragon vibe but been the was several years back I hope that Pixar doesn't opt for the "misunderstood" beast  but rather keep it menacing and a real threat.

And Dragon was fantastic so even if this falls slightly short of that it'll be great

@Calibur454.really....pixar not disney?...in case none of you have been paying attention Disney bought pixar via M&A (Mergers and Aquasitions) so in essense even though pixar is considered a subsideriary of Disney, Disney owns the controlling interest there by making pixar disney. How else do you think pixar obtains the lucrative revenue to pull off some of there larges block busters.

Very strange that the embed code didn't register here...Trying again...*waves hand* Move along. These aren't the droids you're looking for, Monkeyfoot. Move along..

Graebeard 11/19/2011 12:21:29 PM

Yeah ... not feeling it ... the  young girl breaks tradition ... magical elements ... does a daring deed and wins the respect of those who thought her crazy ... Mulan ... Pocahantis ... etc ... what's new here?
