FUNimation Asks If Princess Jellyfish Should Get Video Release

FUNimation ran the simulcast for Princess Jellyfish last year and it garnered quite a lot of critical acclaim, but it's a show that you can imagine having a hard time finding a buying audience in the US, making expectations of a home video release slim. FUNimation's Lance Heiskell is looking to see what the interest level is now though by asking on their Facebook page about whether people would be interested or not.

After reading this article and/or watching the series. Tell us what you thought of Princess Jellyfish. Would you buy it on DVD/Blu-ray? Thanks in advance {Lance}

As of this writing, their entry has 110 comments on it that are almost entirely supportive of the idea and numerous likes as well. Would you be interested in the show on either DVD or Blu-ray? Hit up their wall and let them know! (and we cast our vote as an emphatic yes!)

Plot summary: Tsukimi and her friends are hopeless nerds with weird hobbies. Their social phobias confine them to an all-girl apartment complex, but a jellyfish rescue mission and the arrival of a "Stylish Girl" are about to turn their lives upside down!

So would they really do this if they didn't already plan on releasing it?

they are trying to figure out how many to make with the number of people who resond I'm sure.I bewtcha they are going to try and do a type of mod demand system that is something they might experiemtn with.

 Yeah, but just on Facebook?  Ain't that a bit too inclusive?

FUNi's been known to do confusing things:  Shoving some dragon girl's arse in everyone's faces (Dragonaut) and then whine and moan about the lost of some shounen baseball team (Big Windup).  (Because if it was me, I'd focus my PR on "Big Windup" instead of on "Dragonaut," leaving the T&A to the perverts who want it.)

Also, I'd lose the argument over "how many people would put money on horrible (anime)."

To paraphrase the old saying and do it half way; "If you have to ask..."  And if you ask me, I'd instead vouch for some other anime titles FUNi need to work on.  One "Shukufuku no Campanella" and one "Strike Witches II," to be exact.

 Sooo, you can only voice  your opinion if you have a Facebook account? Lame. Guess I'll just give my answer here then. I'll buy it in a heartbeat on BluRay. But if they only offer a DVD version, I'll pass.

Well, if they DO license this, I think they should also consider Squid Girl.  That's a silly little series in the same line.  But then again, that's just me.  =P

You can't vote "not like" either on Facebook. :(
