FUNimation's new release of Vexille on Blu-ray has provided fans with an interesting peek into a possible future. The company hasn't provided much of anything on their high definition releases yet when it comes to high definition trailers for their other properties, which isn't that much of a surprise considering lead-up time and making the materials. The new release of Vexille provides two high definition trailers on it, one of which is expected while the other is a cruel tease. The first is that we do get the Samurai 7 trailer in high definition and it looks very vibrant and appealing. With that release due in December, actually advertising it in high definition makes sense. The second one one there, the one that is a surprise, is that the new Darker Than Black trailer that's been popping up is done in high definition as well. It's a strong visual difference compared to the DVD trailer to be sure and it draws you in all the more as well.
In the future, hopefully FUNimation will denote in their menus which trailers are SD and which trailers are HD.
