The Review!
One of Watase Yuu's masterpiece work. The region 2 DVD version of Fushigi Yuugi is finally arrived in Japan in Fall of 2001.

Clean, fresh sound of Dolby Digital audio. All the Japanese dialogues sound nice. First I didn't trust the quality since this series was made in 1995, but I was I didn't notice any distortions or any of that.

The quality of the video was acceptable. The video was little shaky and has some dust on few scenes, but that didn't really disturb the viewing pleasure. Compare to US release VHS, US version was so much cleaner and sharper images which Pioneer company remastered it for US release. So I was kinda disappointed in this DVD, and it's like they're just using LD quality. But who cares? It's still good to watch.

Just white colored case with the cover. The cover is illustrated by Watase Yuu's drawing and it looks gorgeous! Rest of them are just few ads paper.

It has access to episode 1 through 6 with chapters. It has background picture of Miaka and Yui, which they look so cute together. All the menues are written in Japanese.

None. There were no extras in the first volume, but there should be extra in the last volume. (Maybe the OP/ED without credit)

Not bad for region 2 DVD release of old school anime. I wished they could remastered the whole episodes and make the picture into a clean quality, just like US releases. If you want to buy Fushigi Yuugi in high quality video, buy the US version. If you want to buy it in original DVD(not US or Hong Kong bootleg version), this DVD is still good to buy. I was very impressed with the price, which was $30 in US for 6 episodes. I guess it saves you money from buying US version, which they cost $30 for 3 episodes in one DVD.
