Coming to a TV near your...Anorexic Spiderman!

I hate these new styles of animation. Flash animation being the worst. I just can't get past the new styles of many of these new cartoons.

What's worse is the new Transformers cartoon that was being talked about on AICN. The new Optimus looks awful. Transformers should not be mixed with the Samurai Jack style. (shudder) In the end, it makes me want to start animating my own Transformers cartoons based on the original cartoon from the 80s with the same art style (just slightly less cheesy scripts). If only I had the budget to do it... because I actually do have the skill otherwise. =P

I really don`t understand how technology keeps getting better but the visual look of animation seems to get worse. It doesn`t look too bad, but its not great. I think Spiderman should be done with the same style that they do Justice League, Batman and Superman. It looks cool, and way more comic book like than this.

Yah, I don't get this pseudo-anime style. Looks like crap. My first thought when I saw that picture was, "Is that a girl?" Look at the way the pectorals are drawn. Tell me that doesn't look like a bust line. Add that to the ultra skinny body and it screams "girl." lazy-ass artists these days.

I think marvel should be kicking someones ass for coming up with that Spiderman design.

Don't like the style either. Note the "cast" of villains "shown" Vulture (in the moon) Electro (bolts on building) Sandman Doc Ock

I agree, the style is not very good. I don't mind him being thin though, because Parker was a skinny kid. I'm surprised to see the webbing under the arms. I thought that disappeared from the costume years ago. Does this mean that the series is set in his early years?

Being a Flash animator myself, I'll just assume you're talking about the OTHER Flash guys, westend. =) I'd agree, though, the style and design of this is pretty awful. Has anybody else seen any of "Spider-Man: The New Animated Series" from a few years ago? It was computer animated a la Futurama, with Bendis writing. Doogie Howser played Petey, Lisa Loeb played MJ, and the style and tone of the show was effectively dark. Sadly, MTV dropped it after one season, but if you want some reallly good Spider-Man cartoon action, I highly recommend it. I think you can get the whole season on Amazon for about $20. It's way better than this garbage.

Nice catch, wes; I didn't even notice the underarm webbing until you mentioned it. Maybe it's skin flab from his starvation diet. Aunt May should really stop spending so much on lottery tickets, and feed this kid.
