FX has won out over such cable networks as TNT/TBS, USA and Spike to obtain exclusive rights to SPIDER-MAN 3. The final price has not been set but FX might pay upward of $33 million for the rights depending on how well the film does at the box office.

The cable network will first start running the film in 2009.

At first I thought the headline was a pan review of the film...

Why not? FX seems to show Spiderman 2 about 50 million times between reruns of That 70s Show and their new shows like Rescue Me. It seem appropriate to me.

No, but some people are that cheap. I know a guy who pays $5 month for the cable Hi-Def channels but won't pay an additional $5 for the local channels. Instead he uses rabbit ears that have to be adjusted every time he changes the station and NBC often flickers in and out.

More importantly, how will FX recoup this money? Are advertisers reallt gonna shell out enough cash to justify airing this?

Merin...I don't watch movies on network channels...They cut to much and the commercials ruin not only the flow but the enjoyment because they seem to cut to a commercial at a pivetal point...I especialy don't watch if the dialog is racey and they record voice overs during parts of the speech or bleep cursing and what not...I have alot of dvd's and if something is on that I have on dvd then why would I watch it on television cable? Anyway, Spidey 3 Rocks baby!
