Katsuhiko is a master train pervert. He can pull off a feel, a grab, or even go all the way on a crowded train with girls he's never met. One day he meets a sinister pickpocket named Gin, who provides him with the ultimate target. Katsuhiko moves in on the gorgeous TV anchorwoman with perfect skill, but will he be ready for Gin's well-timed double cross? The Review!
It's time to get back on the express trains where the young men must take advantage of the women whom they believe want to be taken advantage of. Circular logic at its best!.Audio:
For our primary viewing session, we listened to this show in its English language adaptation. The mix for both it and the included Japanese track are basic stereo mixes which sound decent but unexceptional. There's a bit more usage in the overall sound of the track due to the trains but most of the show is like many other adult releases in that it's dialogue and center channel focused. There's little in terms of real directionality across the forward soundstage but there aren't any actual problems with either language track. We had no issues with dropouts or distortions during regular playback.Video:
Originally released in 2005, the transfer for this series is presented in its original full frame aspect ratio. The source materials and budget for the show look to be pretty good though there are some obvious corners cut in some of the designs and animation but it is for the most part one that looks good and has a smooth clean appearance to it. The train setting for the bulk of the show provides for a lot of bright lighting but they also make sure to provide scenes in darker areas to go with full effects. The colors for the show look really good and maintain a mostly solid feel throughout while the few blacks that we do get maintain a strong feel as well with little in the way of dipping into the grey. Aliasing and cross coloration are both extremely minimal here with only a few touches of it in some scenes but rarely more than a blip.Packaging:
Due to this being a checkdisc, we did not have any packaging to review.Menu:
Though it's fairly simple, the main menu looks good with the very attractive character artwork of two of the women undressing each other that takes up most of the screen while some soft piano music plays along. With nothing but the show and trailers here, the layout is basic with a strip down the right side. Access times are nice and fast and the layout is easy to navigate for what little is here and it also does correctly read our players' language presets.Extras:

G-Spot Express brings us back to one of the more amusing areas of adult anime in that we get to have a show focused around men who grope, fondle and actually have sex with women on trains, be they crowded or practically empty. It's quite a serious problem in Japan and is at times one of those issues that everyone knows about but doesn't talk about but it is continually changing. At the same time, with the more expressive and sexually free youth that are coming into their own, being groped is something that many want to have happen to them and they provide the opportunities for it.
The two part storyline here focuses on one young man named Katsu who seemingly has no real job and just spends all of his time riding the rails when he's not in his tiny dank apartment that seems to have no lights and just a TV in it. He's a fairly decent looking guy with a bit of a dark edge to him and he's essentially what you'd call a professional groper. He spends his time finding the women on the trains and fondling them and taking advantage of them to some level. Recent news about the practice has him a bit more on edge than usual since it's heightened awareness but he can't resist it. He runs into a bit of trouble though when after one subject another woman who comes to her rescue turns out to be a cop that wants to take him down. He manages to avoid her but he spends most of the rest of the show either avoiding her or trying to take her down.
While Katsu's been a lone wolf up until now in his hunts, he's found by a group of men who work together to provide coverage for each other. They're impress by his works and after seeing him in person pull off a rather solid stunt they bring him into the group and start going after the girls together, including taking down the TV hostess who talked about being outed as a woman who loves to be groped. There are different kinds of people who engage in this and it's one of the minor plots that comes along during it as the group Katsu works with doesn't get involved in violence, or at least they don't perceive what they do as violent, and actively work to keep the more violent types off of what they consider their territory. There's a fair number of women who get involved in all of this and the situations are fairly standard, though plenty of it is at a level where you can't imagine it happening that way without someone saying something.
While the plot of the show is something that's been seen before, it does have some nice designs and fairly good animation to it. The women involved are of course attractive in general but they're not the completely typical cookie cutter types that you see in a lot of shows, or wearing the same things. The schoolgirl outfit is only brought up with one girl while the rest move between things such as business professional outfits, slutty outfits and things like spring apparel. The guys for their part aren't all that much but they don't make you cringe, even the old guy doesn't make you want to claw your eyes out which is a big plus. The sex scenes when they do happen are pretty good as there's typically more of the lead-up to them that happens since it does take place on trains during broad daylight. Overall though it's a pretty good set of episodes that covers the fetishes of this kind of storyline. In Summary:
While there's only so far you can go when it comes to the entire groping and train fetish, there are some interesting things that you can do and G-Spot Express plays up some of that. While the phenomenon isn't limited to Japan, they're one of the few places where it's seemed to take on a sort of legitimacy while at the same time being heavily dealt with by the police and women's groups. That said, this is all just pure fantasy anyway and they have a good bit of fun with the show and the characters while still keeping it mild and playing up the sex and eroticism with a creepy edge to it.
