Superhero Hype has learned that actor Taylor Kitsch ("Friday Night Lights") will play Remy LeBeau aka Gambit in the upcoming origin tales. There's been rumors that the character will be making an appearance since production was scheduled for New Orleans locations and now, SHH is confirming the actor signing a three picture deal.

Time for the unconfirmed reports surrounding the Dead Pool character.

I'd say AICN is breaking something here with the possibility of Ryan Reynolds playing "Dead Pool" in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine. But it's not a new rumor. Comingsoon reported this a few weeks back and it's still under Movie Rumor Control until someone gets a confirmation from the production. For now Maniacs, there's a possibility that Mr. Reynolds is still under consideration as making a cameo in the next Wolverine adventure as "Dead Pool".We've had also had it under Rumor Control that Reynolds would be playing the "Flash" for quite sometime now in its own seperate movie franchise.

Plot Summary: Leading up to the events of "X-Men," "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine will hit theaters May 1, 2009.

With all these cameos it's starting to sound like X4. Which is cool, it's GOTTA be better than X3l Reynolds is an excellent choice, hope it pans out.

IT IS X4... anyways, im game for this film as long as it makes me forget the nightmare that was rat(ASS)ner's x3

awww crap. keep lame arse Gambit outta my wolvie movie. sheesh.

If it's just a cameo l(like the students in the first x-men movie) that'll be ok. But if they make him a player in the movie, that'll just be annoying.

I like Reynolds too. He proved that he can pull off the wisecracks in Blade 3 and that's pretty much how I figure Deadpool to be. However I doubt that the WB would stick with him for the Flash if he signs up for a Marvel character. Anyway they can always branch off Deadpool into his own feature.
As for Kitsch, I'm not too familiar with him. Did see him in the Covenant, but that's it. He definitely looks the part. Maybe a bit young but then again this does take place a while back so the youth may be appropriate.

Well, I`ve never seen Kitch in anything else but Friday Night Lights but he is great in it as Riggins, so this could be cool. I don`t know how old the dude is but I hope they aren`t going to make Gambit a teen or something like they did with Rogue, and Iceman.
Reynolds is perfect for Deadpool. He has the ability to pull off that crazy quirky , almost psychotic sense of humor that Deadpool is known for, which tends to be almost annoying.

and now it's complete, with what i'm almost positive is going the be a mockery of my favorite mutant. so let the onslaught of unnecessary cameos begin. just breath it's not gonna kill me just the ideas i love.

wiseguy562 it could work with reynolds as both flash and deadpool, i mean marsden was cyclops and in superman returns.

R.I.P. Gambit....sob

ponyboy, you have to keep in mind that this film may be about 20-30 years before X-Men. So depending when in that time frame the Gambit cameo comes along it may be justified for him to be pretty young.
AzulTaLoN, you're right, but his role in SM hardly qualifies in comparison when Deadpool has a chance of becoming its own franchise. And Marsden's familiarity with Singer is probably what landed that role for him, not trying to say he isn't a capable actor.

You are right about that Wiseguy. Gambit may be in flashbacks mostly during the movie and since Logan pretty much always looks the same, it would make sense for Remy to be younger.
It`s funny, but I was thinking about this the other day. Logan is pretty much the only Marvel character besides immortals or gods that his lack of aging makes sense and doesn`t have to be chalked up to , "comic characters don`t age". In fact, he`s probably the only character besides Steve Rogers who has a past going back more than 50 years. I mean Spidey has been 30 for like the last 10 or so years.

WISEGUY562 • Feb 19, 2008, 03:15am •
I know it's a bit off topic but Spidey, after a "new day" is actually 25 y.o. and has reverted back to the old SM in sense of powers and his secret identity.

ponyboy76 • Feb 19, 2008, 04:01am •
Wise, I have officially wiped "New Day" out of my mind. I absolutely hate what they have done with him and in my head, Spidey is 30 and still married to MJ. If I wait long enough and we get lucky, Quesadilla will be fired and someone will reboot him back to before One More Day.
