Nintendo announced today that the GAME BOY ADVANCE has sold over 1 million units in six weeks. The handheld has been one of the hottest hardware launches in history, being sold out at many locations.
Interestingly, since the handheld's launch on June 11th, an average of 20 GBAs have been sold each minute. Seven of the top ten videogames sold in June were GAME BOY ADVANCE titles.
As an endnote, Nintendo has accomplished all of this without a holiday season or a Pokemon game. The resulting sales due to either of those two (or the combination of both) could be staggering.
