With little to no major new releases in the DVD market, Disney's Game Plan and Lionsgate's Saw IV returned again in their respective 1st and 2nd place spots, says the Nielson VideoScan First Alert sales chart. Same goes for the rentals race, reports Home Media Magazine's video rental chart, which says that Game Plan came in 1st once again while Lionsgate's Good Luck Chuck and Saw IV followed in 2nd and 3rd for rentals.
After two weeks in release, "Plan" has generated $18.7 million in rental revenue for Disney. "Chuck" has returned $27.7 million and "Saw IV" has made $15 million.
The only newcomer to the top 5 is last summer's Invasion, an under-performing remake of the classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The Nicole Kidman-led remake followed in 3rd place in sales and landed in 4th place on the rentals front.
On the high-definition disc front, Lionsgate's 3:10 to Yuma was the top-selling Blu-ray Disc for the week ending Feb. 3, while Paramount's Transformers was the top-selling HD DVD feature film.
The top-selling HD release for the week was Warner/BBC's Planet Earth: The Complete Collection, available on both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD.
