Ian McKellen has started new speculation about the possibility of adapting J.R.R. Tolkien's THE HOBBIT in live-action, but not as a feature film but instead a yearlong television series.
The actor who plays Gandalf the wizard in Peter Jackson's THE LORD OF THE RINGS movies told TIME EUROPE that he would love to reprise the part of Gandalf the Grey in this Tolkien story that takes place before the adventures seen in RINGS. "I've asked Peter Jackson if he'll produce the prequel as a huge, yearlong television series. All those different strands to the story seem perfect for TV, and we'd do every scene of it. It could be marvelous," McKellen told TIME EUROPE in an interview.
Well, Peter? Are you up for more adventures in Middle-earth or do you need a vacation away from Hobbits, Orcs and Wizards?
