Jennifer Garner is in talks to star alongside Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx in The Kingdom. Garner has a slew of films in production right now, including Be With You (just announced), Charlotte's Web (post-production), Sabbatical (pre-production), and Catch and Release (completed).

The Kingdom, penned by Michael Carnahan and also starring Chris Cooper, will revolve around an FBI team located in the Middle East investigating a terrorist bombing.

Michael Mann is producing alongside Scott Stuber. Universal will be the studio behind the film, they are hoping to get started sometime in June.

Out of curiosity, does Jamie Foxx REALLY need that extra 'x' at the end?

Wouldn't the middle east be a little out of the FBI's jurisdiction? Unless it were an embassy or something...

It would have to be something like that... but hey... Hollywood has stretched credibility before.

Hey shaolinronin maybe he's personally doing a stylized dedication respelling with his name these days in the spirit of honoring the classic comedian Redd Foxx from the 70's TV series "Sanford and Son" :-)

Hell if I know the real reason.

Worry if he starts calling himself something like "PFoxx", "Foxy Diddy" or "Puffy Foxx" then we can say he's losing a few oars in the water as he pushes old age. :-)

This movie is being filmed in Arizona at ASU's east campus. It's on the south sice of the campus by some of the housing. If you drive south on Power Rd from Williams Field Rd, you'll see the sets being built on the east side. It should start filming next month, that's true.

So, this sounds pretty hollywood generic.
Garner will be the tough but lovable female lead wos tracking terrorists while looking sexy and all.

Foxx will be the maverick playing by his own rules who is determined to stop the baddies at any cost.

Carter will be the tough-as-nails assisstant director who supports his staff despite their constantly ignoring protocol and undermining the authority of the military presence stationed there.

There will inevitably arise a scene where Carter argues with a grizzled general (see Sam Shepard or R Lee Ermy) over jurisdictional control.

Garner will be taken hostage and put on a video with a burlap sack over her head, and when it arrives at the american base of ops, the Gen, Carter, and Foxx will decide to mommentarily ignore their myriad differences so as to mount a covert operation to recover the lovable agent Garner.

During said operation, Carter will be shot in the chest, sacrificng himself for his agents, but not in vain, becase all will turn out well before the credits roll.

Que the music for the obligatory swimming suit scene with Garner!

As to his name, from what I gather, the screen actor's guild doesn't not allow duplicate names, so many actors have to change the last name a bit or sadd their middle name, etc. to meet this stipulation. If I remember right, that's why Vivica A. Fox added the "A.", because someone was already registered under Vivica Fox. What I wonder is, does this count for actors living AND dead? Are their long dead actors out there that are squatting common names?
