Garrett Ready For APRIL FOOL'S DAY

Actress Beau Garrett may be coming back into the genre of horror for the remake of APRIL FOOL'S DAY, says Bloody Disgusting. The actress who starred in Turistas and is currently prepping for Matt Leutwyler's creature film, Unearthed, is reportedly joining Scout Taylor-Compton in the remake for the Butcher Bros. Word is that principal photography is set to begin shortly and the film will be getting an April 2008 release for Columbia. Hah, there's a shocker.

Plot Summary: When Muffy decides to invite her drama club to her isolated house for a "killer" weekend, nobody would of expected it to be taken so literally. Now the guest list is being trimmed and suspicions turn on each other.

I liked this movie as a kid when I first saw it on VHS back in the '80s...does it require a remake? That can be answered any number of ways, I wonder how they are going to do it...because if any of you saw the original you knew that it was all an "April Fool's Day" prank!

its one of those rare "wow, its actually GOOD" movies that you stumble across late at night at blockbuster video when looking for a movie you've never seen before.
Remake? nah.... see the original!

Once you have seen the original, there will be no twist ending if they do a remake. So why not just make an unrelated sequel so there is a chance of surprising those of us who saw the original in the theater?

Remake shmemake.

I used to love this movie,,,,,and I still do. Thomas F. Wilson, Clayton Rhoner, Debroah Formen....all the 80's actors who started out hot, then faded away. It was funny, creepy and had A good ending if you didn't know anything about it. So, unless they can come up with a new twist, I agree with Lister, it is already ruined. I am not opposed to this, just make it good.

lister -- any relation to the 'Lister' from the Red Dwarf series? :P -- you have to remember, there are people who never saw this movie...some of them who have read about it on here may go out and try and find the DVD for this movie, and it is on DVD...others may wait for the remake to hit theatres and not know the ending because they haven't watched the original. Some may watch the remake, and then try and get the original on DVD. I do the last thing with certain movies...sometimes I try and see the original first, before seeing the remake.

Whiskeymovie,

You may want to check on IMDb for some of the names you mention...some are still acting.

mlauzon, what do you think, smeghead? :)

Of course there are people who have never seen the movie. But since it is easily watchable and they can get the DVD if they want to see it. But since the ending is so important, why not avoid the remake and go for something everyone can enjoy?

I've never heard of this, nor will I probably see it, because it sounds like a hundred other movies out there that didn't interest me to begin with.
Teeny horror murder movie, how original!

almostunbiased, this one is different. It's not the same for a reason.

What I meant was, it seemed they were starting out to have a good career, then just kind of went to made for tv movies and low budget direct to video type things. Not that they aren't still acting. I see Clayton Rohner pop up from time to time, and I have always liked him ever since "Just One of the Guys".
