BUT WILL STEPHEN KING BE THERE?
Gauntlet Press has just published a new book by Mick Garris, director of the acclaimed TV miniseries The Shining and The Stand, titled A Life in the Cinema (strange, since his best-known directorial work is in TV). To mark the occasion, Gauntlet is throwing a party this Saturday night at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, and the guest list really shows just how well-regarded this Garris guy is. Clive Barker, Larry Cohen, Bill Condon, Wes Craven, Susan Faludi (well, Backlash was sorta like science fiction, wasn't it?), Tobe Hooper, John Landis, and others are set to be there. Even if you're not invited, it sounds like a good place to beg for autographs.
