That is cool. I've never been in El Capitain (been in Grauman's) but I've been in old theatres with similar architecture built in the 20s. Back then they had real style. A theatre was a major attraction because it was the destination for crowd entertainment in a city. They are all usually an elaborate mixture of Chinese, Persian, and other eastern ifluences. Just looking at the ceiling or a stair rail or a piece of a wall is looking at a chunk of intricate craftsmenship. If you have one that old in your town I encourage you to find an excuse to go there. Some are in disrepair and may not be long for this world.

On a related note, I just read on MSNBC that RDJ is estimated to make $50 mil on his backend deal for the Avengers. Once the first IM made alot of money, his agents worked a deal for him to get a percentage of revenue for any movie he appears in as Iron Man. Most of the other heroes were not in a position to get such deals.

One ticket was $16???  I don't think so.

When it comes to film stuff Hollytwood is definitely the place to be. I love NY and all but they get more special screenings and the like over there. I think NY is better for indie films thou.

And 16 bucks for a 3D screening in a primo theater? cheap or at least reasonable the same show here is 17

thats only 2$ more then the one I went to. You must have some cheap theaters near you karas.

Oh and I fully intend on watching The Avengers again this weekend.

It'll be a tough task to break Avatar's record for best 3rd weekend (68mil) but I'm going to help it get as close as possible. It needs to hold on to about 66% of last weekend's take, that's a huge task.
