I love the movie "Darby O’Gill and the Little People".  I have to dust it off every couple of years.

Yep, for sure, Joh  Carter is a rental 100%.

The old days of the Disney Magix are also gone and that's100% sure. Different times, different needs, now $$$ is more important and artistic freedom, long term return benefits and merchandise is more important and fun and small budget gems.

Ahhh...the old days....

Looks like this comes down to everybody is entitled to an opinon. There is no right or wrong answer towards art except with what moves you. You can argue about whether an airplane design will work and somebody is definitely right or wrong but in the case of movies its all in each person's head.

I liked JC but with reservations (one of which I agree that Taylor Kitsch wasn't as charismatic in the role as I thought he should be) but I don't think it was the shining example of corporate Hollywood gone wrong.

Darby O'Gill and The Little People rule!

Almost as much as John Carter!  :)

All kidding aside, I did really like JC, but the more I think about it, the more it bothers me that they changed so much from the original novel.  I'll admit it could have been a lot better with only just a little bit of tweaking.

shac, I  agree with you... it is called Pixar... but as those guys/ gals starting branching out on Disney's live action films I'm getting worried.
