 Cool locations.  Great list.

Not really genre, but I've been through Chicago's Union Station (The Untouchables) and to the top of the Sears Tower (Ferris Bueller's Day Off... also not genre, but DOES feature a brief audio sample from Star Wars ;) )

seen Devil's tower and been to Mt. Rushmore. My grandpa even made a joke about someone hanging off of Rushmore a la' North by Northwest.  Wasn't the Vasquez Rocks used in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey? I swore they were thrown off of it by their robo twins after watching that Star Trek episode w/Gorn. Griffith Observatory is somewhere I would love to go to though.  But even the nature areas would be magnificent.

I think traveling locations of the Indiana Jones films would be an awesome vacation. Well, three vacations... Again, gotta have a ton of dough to do it tho.

Griffith Observatory is also one of the places used in "Bowfinger" for the ending to the sci-fi movie-within-a-movie, "Chubby Rain".

If you're in NYC try Grand Central Station, even if you don't need to catch a train.  You'll recognize it from many many films and TV shows.

Vazquez Rocks is also where they filmed the live action "Flintstones".

And National Treasure 2 ended up on top of Mount Rushmore also.
