GENEON Entertainment and TOKYOPOP have graciously donated us a copy of the first volume of the DVD series, the first volume of the manga series and a Pioneer brand DVD Recorder/Player (model DVR-233S). We've covered the DVD release previously and there's plenty of discussion on the show and it's harem nature as well as the DVD being the first 17 rated title from GENEON.
The fine print:The fine print 1: The winner will receive the manga release as soon as the book is published; it is scheduled for a late September release.
The fine print 2: All entries become the property of AnimeonDVD.com and may be used in any promotional way. Contestants' email and shipping addresses will not be given out to anyone. Winner(s)
It would all start with how me and three other girls (my best friend, my annoying rival, and an girl) get onto the wrong bus that leads us to an all boys' summer camp. And there's no way to leave until 6 weeks later when the buses come back. Cell phones don't work wherever we were sent and basically we become stranded there. We get discovered by a boy (who is the main love interest-obvious becuase we see him first, and he's cute sooooooo cute, I'd draw pictures if I could put them in) and his best friend (who eneds up liking me, also rather cute) who lead us to the counselors. Because of that fact, the Chief camp counselor decides to let us stay there in the 'conviently empty 5th cabin.
The 5th cabin sucks (it's horrible, it is like it was the poor random house that no one cares about that gets destroyed in the background of some anime like Inuyasha and then put pack together with crazy glue :P). So our next adventure involved us girls working together to make it more livable for the remaining six weeks, but things go awry because my rival and I don't like each other. By this point in the story, the rest of the guys hear of the girls in their camp so they come to help us! Or at least most of them, some could care less.
And so the story goes on. We encounter the various guys at the camp that should have a fun weird tongue-twisting name like Camp Kapilini Day Rudey Taro Mepuu that has no real meaning, it's just weird that way. Now I am gonna just list all of the 16 that are at the camp in no particular order, separated by cabin.
*The cute/hansome guy from before that we all know I will most likely end up with despite our difference. :) Doesn't like me, wants the girls gone from invading us, still hung up on some other girl it seems
*The adorable/cute boy's cute best friend who knows he likes me right way, great guy, one fault is that he allows his best friend to keep hating me so he can seem better than him
*The cute/hansome nice boy that everyone likes who acts like the peace keeping big brother of the cabin
*My next door neighbor who is adorable/handsome but likes my best friend in the end :(
*Goth-handsome, cool, creepy yet nice, doesn't burn or tan :O but flirt worthy nonetheless
*Rebel-gets in trouble, is trouble, I help him with his problems, is all good and good, friends
*Drama boy-the actor, a 'ham', popular when not out for the spotlight, is it all an act with him or is there more to him???
*The one branded with an L on his forehead, the poor loser we all pity yet learn to care about 'cause he does have good character despite the situations he faces
*Wanna-be president, arrogant, conceited, egotistical chauvinist we get to hate, wants a 'trophy' girl
*Jock, happy semi-handsome and ugly guy who can do push ups all day and is way too involved to athletics, but that's not really a bad thing
*Twin 1, crazy scientific inventor-like kid who enjoys amusing people by his creations, even the ones out of lint ^^; and is kinda girly
*Twin 2, opposite in personality to his seriousish brother, a total joker, when is her serious
*Computer junkie, has issues due to much lack of computer access, the poor thing must learn to deal with nature, the nut is going through withdrawal
*Tall one, lanky, awkward, really sweet, kinda cute, in his own way
*Rich kid, his money does him no good out him, the pampers brat must live without servants (sucks 4 him, do not pity the snot)
*Nature Freak, rather sleep on the roof, under the stars, extreme about camp experience but otherwise cool
Cabin 5, AKA The Girls:
+Me-the heroine, shy quiet girl yet gets hyperactive and talkative after awhile, barley popular, relatively smart yet stil doesn't know any better when it comes to her feelings most of the time
+My best friends-support me and is prettier (grrr >XO) pretty popular but does care about status or boys, creates situations that make me have to deal with guys one-on-one
+The Rival- is popular, the enemy, out to make my life hell, flirts with all those 'worthy' of her, practically opposite of me and the best friend but we pity her by the end
+The random girl- acts as the peace keeping mother of our cabin, otherwise of doing her own thing, gets long with the guys well enough and already has her own boyfriend so fends off the flirts
And now simple summaries of various plotlines I'd encounter in this world filled with boys galore:
*Swimming at the beautiful lake, yay for swimsuits ^_~
*Sunsets at the lake , so romantic
*Camping through the forest, the difficulties and getting lost with the guy I begin to fall for, sharing SMORES
*We girls find out that we could leave the camp and go to the one we should have gone to, but where the fun be at an all girls' camp
* The boy next door arrives 3 days late due to family illness, my luvie-dovie attacks make me stutter, face all red XD
*random antics of the rival girl to flirt with nearly everyone
*antics of them flirting with us
*events that have star gazing and more together time with 'the' boy and his best friend at other times
*me finding out that my best friend and the boy next door are hooking up (how dare they!)
*random confessions from boys saying they like me/or another girl or another guy o_O
*pranking due to recvenge on a misunderstanding which we all laught about for days
*a bear come to the camp grounds! Be scared? Be happy? Run away no panic
*a canoe contest! Let the egos fly and alliances made
*just stuff involving counselors like drama of confessions to liking, hating, avoiding, admiring, stalking o_O
*guys vs girls for some plot twist, which is unfair since there is more of them
*cross dressing, because it's hilarious and it makes everyone wonder where the clothes came from in the first place...
*scavenger hunt, "ooo lookie lookie what I'"Found'" ^_~
*general snooping around to find out random stuff about people
*Going home time T_T aww it's all ending, so was it all summer love???
Counselors:
+Chief camp counselor, sweet old grandfatherly like man, not weak though, gotta love him
+Chief camp counselor's granddaughter, rival envies her, the guys love her, she's like a big sister to me
+Mr. Awesome, the one person who gets a name right now, only because he just is awesome, likes Chief camp counselor's granddaughter
+That eccentric infirmary guy who wears the rimless glasses, which really is a pretty girl, but we all know if the boys knew she was a girl, they fake heat stoke to hang out with her, also really Mr. Awesome's little sister, the glasses thrown in for my friend, and all the girls knows she's a girl and evil rival girl lets it slip for fun because she's evil that way but there's no consequence
+The crazy military nut who shouldn't be here in the first place to which everyone tries to avoid
So if I can be put into a harem thing, it get the above situations with the above people. Despite the difficulties, people who watch will have fun as I 'suffer' through whatever I get to endure as a teenager put in awkward situations that seem cruel. But I end up the guy we first see because it is like some rule, we all know its going to happen and whatever I want to happen at first never turns out that way. That's the ironic world of anime at work against the protagonist of the story though it is never all that BAD, now is it?
