Louis Leterrier (UNLEASHED), the director of the upcoming film THE INCREDIBLE HULK, told the Comic Con that General Ross would be returning to the film.

Leterrier also talked about his vision for the character saying that he would remain focused on how Bruce Banner deals with his hatred for the monster inside of him. He mentioned that that the film would have a tone close to that of the television show, Ari Arad added that the film would have hero theme to it.

"This is Marvel's horror movie," said Leterrier "It's Frankenstein meets Jekyll and Hyde with a little bit of Edward Scissorhands."

The fact that it claims to have a "little bit of EDWARD SCISSORHANDS" is enough to make me want to avoid this like the Plague.

Besides, I thought that X-MEN: THE LAST STAND was Marvel's horror film.

"He mentioned that that the film would have a tone close to that of the television show. . . ."

The TV show was generally cheesy. When the Hulk appeared, you got a bodybuilder painted green, with bad false teeth, and a troll doll wig flexing in front of the camera while some onlooker would say something like "far out" and then perhaps run away in fast motion Benny Hill-style. I hope this isn't what they have in mind for this movie.

Lets hope they choose to stick with the cg Hulk and avoid any repeats of either Lou Ferrigno-esque body paint or worse still Michael Chiklis aka Thing (F4) prosthetics. ::Shudder::

I think that they should stay as far away as the campy t.v. show Hulk as possible. I`d like to see they grey Hulk as a bouncer in Vegas. That was a great series.

At first, they were calling this new Hulk film a remake, not a sequel. Information is screwy at times. I do know that the Hulk will be CGI just like in the first movie, but he will not be fifteen feet tall as he was before. Only eight feet. And the "Edward Scissorhands" comment only refers to the character's misunderstanding and curiousness by the general public. Edward was a curiosity and later feared by the people over a misunderstanding. As far as the TV show went, they didn't have the time nor could they afford to make the Hulk animated with the available technology of the decade. So, they used a live actor to portray the part. According to Avi Arad, this new movie will have Bruce Banner attempting to get rid of his alter-ego, yet using it to defend people against the threat of the Abomination. It has also been rumored that the Leader will be involved. There will be more action than character development, but a sub-plot is said to be focused on Banner's coming to terms with his new conditon. Rumors are going on of a recast, though there are indications Eric Bana is interested in reprising his role. I know that Sam Elliot (also in the upcoming Ghost Rider) is reprising his role as General Ross. Jennifer Connelly, however, will not be returning as Betty Ross. And last, but not least, I like Joe Fixit. He had the attitude and the snazzy suit. I've often thought about a movie featuring this version of the Hulk. Call it The Incredible Joe Fixit: Las Vegas Nights.

That would be cool, James Gandolfini could provide the voice.

I really don't understand why they would consider a "remake" this soon.

Based on some of the things here it sounds like more of a sequel, which is fine. Get a new director, a new writing team, etc and go in a different direction. The origin is there and out of the way... now just move forward. If its good, people won't care that the first one was garbage.

I also think that Bana and Elliot are great actors and fine for their roles. Give them a good script and positive direction and they can stay on board too.

General Ross is kind of like the reporter in the old Hulk TV show; constantly chasing after Hulk forcing Banner to be constantly on the move; never establishing too many ties or getting too close to anyone. I think that's what the director mean when he said the movie will have the feel of the TV show. I think David Duchovny would make a perfect Banner if Bana passes. The movie show have a quick flashback sequence at the beginning of the movie establishing how Banner became Hulk.

I'd love to know where the whole "remake" stuff came from to begin with.

There were also comments on Newsarama saying that the rumors of Duchovny or Fraser being cast as Banner were never more than that: bad rumors. Time will tell.

Joe Fixit, that`s his name, thanks and Gandolfini would be a great choice to voice him or even Chiklis.
