Gerard Butler & Natalie Portman in WOLVERINE?

Good lord, if there is any truth to this rumor I am psyched. Butler will kick serious ass as Victor Creed. I know some will be pissed it is not Tyler, but if they want Sabertooth to be a major protagonist in the prequel they need someone that captures his viciousness and can convey it. Butler proved his chops in 300. Add a little makeup and a wig and BOOM... perfect Sabertooth. As fpr Portman, cool, I guess.

WTF Mane was perfect for the role, and did a good job the first time! 'Sides Butler looks more like Logan than Creed! This is the movie is starting to take a nosedive! Hey director due: PULLUP! PULLUP!

WTF? How the hell is tis movie taking a nosedive? They are trying to get a quality actor to play the major antagonist in the movie. Yes, this movie is doomed! Are you kidding me? Tyler Mane LOOKED great as Sabretooth, but he didn't say a word in X-men and his isn`t really know for his acting ability, whereas Jackman is. Creed needs to be someone not only physically menacing but psychologically too Creed always messed with Logan`s head throughout the comics. I don`t see Tyler Mane, growling and snarling through the movie doing that.

Well said PONYBOY. Tyler Mane was perfect for the part he played in HALLOWEEN, silent, big, and menacing. But Creed takes acting ability, something he doesnt have (yet). Butler will be a perfect cast for this part. i have been reading wolverine & xmen since i was 7 years old, 20 years later i get to see my characters on the big screen and for the most part i am very pleased. Cant wait for this movie!!!

I met him (Tyler Mane) at a con once. See myspace pic for me in profile. I would not think it's too hard for him to act and play a psycho. I guess they are going for big names for the role of Sabertooth now.

If it's true they've reached out for him then he better take the role. The previews for PS I Love You look like crap and he had jumped on board for an Escape of New York remake, and this project in my opinion will be better than both of those combined.
He'd be million times better than Tyler Mane, forget Mane as Sabretooth, let him think he's going to land the Thor role while he keeps doing Halloween flicks.

My only problem with this is that this will probably effectively take him out of the running for any future super hero movies and I'd like the idea of him being offered the Kraven role in a future Spider-Man flick like it's been suggested in a couple of threads here before.

I think the reason Mane was so good in X-Men was he had almost no lines. He's not an actor, he's a former wrestler. Creed is obviously playing a much bigger part in this movie, so they need someone who can *act*. That being said, despite the fact that he can act, I don't know if Butler is right for Creed. Now Kraven, on the other hand...

If you could find someone with Mane's stature that could carry on a conversation, we would be set. I'll third the vote for Butler as Kraven, if only because he doesn't have the height to pull off Sabertooth.

I love Deadpool but are they going to screw contiuity for Logan? Unless I am wrong Deadpool an Logan are years apart origin wise?
