Sideshow Collectibles has announced the upcoming premium format 1:4 scale Princess Leia statue. The figure captures all of the subtle attitude that Carrie Fisher invested in the role, with hips cocked and gun at the ready.

It is is constructed of hand-cast polystone, and is hand-painted to exacting standards, with meticulously finished details such as eyelashes. Leia is dressed in the complete hooded white robe costume, accurately reproduced in 1:4 scale, including her detailed belt.

The Sideshow Exclusive version includes interchangeable arms, so that you may choose to display Leia with her signature blaster, or the exclusive Stormtrooper blaster that she acquisitioned aboard the Death Star.

The figure stands approximately 16" high and weighs 12 lbs. It is priced at $274 and will ship in the second quarter of 2006.

Classic pose. Out of all the other crap, I can see people actually buying this one. But at $275, I'll wait for Jabba's Palace Leia thanks.

"acquisitioned" ? Dude, you're supposed to be a professional writer...

No, he's supposed to be a professional EDITOR. And, had he properly edited the release as posted on the Sideshow Collectibles site, instead of just straight cut-and-pasting it, he might have caught that error. Oh, well, this sort of thing didn't used to happen when I was the toy columnist for the site, many moons ago.

Well, it's a nice statue, but it doesn't look anything like Carrie Fisher. I'll pass.
